Sopé Dìrísù Leads Akinola Davies Jr.’s Directorial Debut, ‘My Father’s Shadow,’ Set in Lagos
Produced by Element Pictures in collaboration with Crybaby and Fatherland Productions, and penned by Wale Davies and Davies Jr., the film “My Father’s Shadow” narrates the story of siblings Remi and Akin, who embark on a unique day out with their long-absent father Folarin. They explore bustling Lagos for the first time together and witness the struggles their father faces to make ends meet. This narrative unfolds amidst the tumultuous 1993 presidential election results, which cast doubt on Folarin’s ability to safely return Remi and Akin home.
