Starting February 1st, you can stream the movie “Blue Beetle” for free on Tubi with advertisements. The story revolves around Jaime Reyes (Maridueña), a recent college graduate who gains superpowers after encountering an alien artifact, the Scarab. Guided by an AI-like voice, Jaime can create any weapon he imagines and even fly, similar to Green Lantern. This is the first live-action movie featuring a Latino superhero, and it focuses heavily on the Reyes family. With limited connections to a larger universe, “Blue Beetle” stands alone as a self-contained film that doesn’t require additional viewing for comprehension. After watching, it becomes clear why Gunn chose to keep “Blue Beetle” in the rebooted DC Universe.
