In the fourth quarter of Comcast’s media division, Peacock’s full-year earnings skyrocketed by 46% to reach $4.9 billion. This marks the first time a Dutch film has opened the festival since 2018. The festival concludes with “This City Is A Battlefield,” a film by Indonesian director Mouly Surya. It’s a joint Dutch-Indonesian production, set during Indonesia’s struggle for independence from the Netherlands in 1946. Following a co-production agreement signed between the two countries in December, Indonesian productions now have access to Dutch subsidies, potentially including a 35% cash rebate through the Netherlands Film Production Incentive.
