Shudder offers a range of February selections tailored for the season of affection. While these films may have a touch more violence and gore, they won’t be any less engaging. Whether you’re planning to watch something solo or with your significant other, Shudder has every kind of spine-tingling film you could desire next month.

As reported by Deadline, the animated film Dog Man had a highly successful debut weekend, earning an estimated $35.3 million. This figure currently places it as the highest-grossing opening weekend of 2025 thus far, surpassing Mufasa: The Lion King’s third weekend gross of $23 million in January 2025. In terms of animated movie openings, Dog Man trails only Kung Fu Panda 3’s record-breaking $41.8 million from 2016. Furthermore, this marks the third consecutive box office number one spot for DreamWorks Animation, following the releases of Kung Fu Panda 4 and The Wild Robot in 2024.

As a film enthusiast, I feel it’s important to clarify that some of my reactions might seem a tad extreme. To add to this, the 2024 animated adaptation promises a rollercoaster of thrills that I can’t help but anticipate with a mix of excitement and trepidation.

For the past year, whenever someone asked me about my prediction for the Best Picture nominees, I would confidently state that “Greg Kwedar’s and A24’s prison drama ‘Sing Sing'” was my top pick. In fact, I went as far as to express my belief that “Sing Sing” would take home the award for Best Picture.
