If you’re a Paramount+ subscriber, you’ve had uninterrupted access to the Star Trek universe since 2017, with popular series like Discovery, Picard, Strange New Worlds, Lower Decks, and Prodigy adding fresh excitement. However, it’s been eight years since Star Trek Beyond hit theaters, and progress on Star Trek 4 has come to a standstill. Although Simon Pegg, who portrays Scotty in the Kelvin Timeline, is eager to rejoin the cast for the next Star Trek installment, he acknowledged that its production may be marred due to a particular reason.

Check out the trailer for the upcoming indie thriller The Thicket starring Peter Dinklage, Juliette Lewis, Levon Hawke, Esme Creed-Miles, James Hetfield, Macon Blair, and Andrew Schulz. The film is directed by Elliott Lester (Blitz, Aftermath, Nightingale) and will be in theaters September 6th.

Set at the turn-of-the-century THE THICKET follows an innocent young man, Jack (Hawke), who goes on an epic quest to rescue his sister Lula (Creed-Miles) after she has been kidnapped by the violent killer Cut Throat Bill (Lewis) and her gang. To save her, Jack enlists the help of a crafty bounty hunter named Reginald Jones (Dinklage), a grave-digging alcoholic son of an ex-slave (Akinnagbe) and a street smart prostitute (Grace). The gang tracks Cut Throat Bill into the deadly no-man’s land known as The Thicket — a place where blood and chaos reign.
