As a passionate moviegoer, I’m thrilled to share that the captivating film “Twisters,” directed by the talented Lee Isaac Chung, has taken the box office by storm. Over its opening weekend, this gripping collaboration between actors Glen Powell and Daisy Edgar-Jones raked in an impressive $80.5 million domestically (as reported by The Numbers). Amazingly, they ranked as the second-highest summer movie debut of 2024, only surpassed by “Inside Out 2” ($154.2 million). Furthermore, “Twisters” outshone both “Dune: Part Two” ($82 million) and the previously mentioned animated adventure in terms of yearly earnings during their premieres.

The beloved comedy “Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion,” released in 1997, has long been requested for a sequel by fans. Though it didn’t bring in big box office numbers initially, its popularity grew significantly upon release on home video. A sequel had been whispered about for years, but the prospect became more promising in 2022 when development was reportedly underway. Since then, information has been limited regarding its progress, but one of the film’s stars, Lisa Kudrow, has confirmed that she’s read the script, leaving us eagerly waiting for production to begin.
