In a nutshell, if you combine David Mamet’s tight-knit dialogue, have it delivered by two seasoned actors in the untamed wilderness of Alaska, and add a towering bear for dramatic effect, you end up with the captivating 1997 survival thriller named “The Edge“. This movie features none other than Anthony Hopkins and Alec Baldwin. Although it was generally praised upon its debut, it’s now making waves as a popular streaming choice on Tubi, climbing up the top ten list unexpectedly.

Although I don’t indulge in as many Christmas movies and specials as I once did, there are a handful that remain close to my heart. With Carrey recently stating his conditions for reprising The Grinch, I must confess that I’m secretly hoping this could become a reality.

It’s an intriguing tale set in a different reality where superheroes made their debut in the 1940s and ’50s. Their existence subtly influenced historical events, resulting in America winning the Vietnam War and avoiding the Watergate Scandal exposure. Yet, life wasn’t perfect; by the ’80s, superheroes were banned and tensions between America and the Soviet Union were escalating towards a potential World War III.
