The latest film by renowned director Francis Ford Coppola, titled Megalopolis, has received poor ratings on Rotten Tomatoes, this time from the audience. This ambitious project was funded by Coppola’s wine vineyard and boasts an impressive ensemble cast consisting of Adam Driver, Giancarlo Esposito, Aubrey Plaza, Nathalie Emmanuel, Laurence Fishburne, Jon Voight, Shia LaBeouf, Dustin Hoffman, and Kathryn Hunter. The film sparked controversy at its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. Despite Lionsgate agreeing to distribute it, the promotional phase has been challenging, including a trailer that showcased AI-generated negative reviews of Coppola’s earlier works, which had to be withdrawn.
