After spending eight seasons as Oliver Queen on The CW’s Arrow and a brief stint as Jack Spade in Heels, Stephen Amell is preparing for another small-screen appearance, this time on NBC. Earlier in the year, he was chosen to portray Ted Black in Suits L.A., but had circumstances been different, we might have witnessed him embodying Leroy Jethro Gibbs in the upcoming prequel series NCIS: Origins instead. Although his audition for the soon-to-be-aired show on the 2024 TV schedule didn’t pan out, that lost opportunity and other pressures in Amell’s life actually bolstered his performance during his Suits L.A. audition.

Kerry Conran’s movie, “Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow,” which came out in the 2000s, is often misunderstood due to its underperformance at the box office. The film made $37.8 million in North America and approximately $20.1 million internationally, but its budget was a hefty $70 million. Interestingly, this movie had an unusual performance at the box office as it started strongly with $15.6 million in its opening week but saw a significant drop of 57.3% in its second weekend and a further decrease of 50.8% in its third. Additionally, “Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow” was initially received with mixed reviews; while critics praised its special effects, many felt that the story fell short of expectations.

The film “Emilia Pérez,” directed by Jacques Audiard, has been drawing attention since its debut at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Jury Prize and shared the Best Actress award with its female ensemble (consisting of Zoe Saldaña, Karla Sofia Gascón, Selena Gomez, and Adriana Paz). This movie is undeniably bold, as it combines elements of a musical, crime thriller, comedy, and a transgender narrative. However, while the performances are exceptional, particularly by Zoe Saldaña, not every aspect of the film seamlessly integrates.

Originally, Edgar Hansen was a key figure in the V/F The Northwestern’s crew. However, following his 2018 arrest and conviction for sexually assaulting a minor, he has become an unwelcome presence on the ship’s deck as well as in the reality show “Deadliest Catch.” While some devoted fans may recall that he served as Sig Hansen’s right-hand man as captain, there is now an empty storyline where he once stood. Yet, attentive viewers have observed that Edgar continues to work for his brother in a supervisory role on the deck — a fact they have noticed during episodes of “The Deadliest Catch.

Approaching the last quarter of 2024, LEGO Star Wars is completing its yearly lineup by launching its October Ultimate Collector Series (UCS) set. Since early February 2023, there have been rumors about this set, and now it has been officially announced that a UCS Jabba’s Sail Barge will be released.
