Janet McTeer Rumored to Be In Talks to Play McGonagall in ‘Harry Potter’ TV Series
The ensemble of the upcoming Harry Potter series, being jointly produced by Warner Bros. and HBO, continues to expand. Most recently, Paapa Essiedu from Gangs of London has been rumored to take on the role of Severus Snape, originally played by the late Alan Rickman. Now, it’s being suggested that an Academy Award-nominated actress is in discussions for a significant part – potentially as Professor Minerva McGonagall, who plays a pivotal role throughout all seven novels written by J.K. Rowling.
