Christmas horror has become a subgenre unto itself, a refuge for those who love to inject a little Halloween revelry into their holiday festivities. It’s home to one of the earliest slasher movies, iconic creature features like Gremlins, and just recently added the gorefest Terrifier 3 to its ranks. But one of the best, and least talked about, examples has to be 2015’s Krampus, a film that strikes an ideal balance between its horror and Christmas movie elements.

The competition for awards is heating up, with “Wicked” now in the running following a significant victory from the National Board of Review. This organization, based in New York City, is a non-profit group made up of movie enthusiasts. Films endorsed by them often receive recognition, particularly at the Academy Awards, where they are frequently nominated for Best Picture. In recent years, winners of the Best Film award from this organization include “Killers of the Flower Moon”, “Top Gun: Maverick”, and “Licorice Pizza” – all of which were subsequently nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars.

In the continuation of Pushpa: The Rise, Pushpa 2: The Rule finds our protagonist, Pushpa (Allu Arjun), firmly entrenched as a powerful force in the illicit sandalwood trade. Despite his involvement in illegal activities and misuse of power, Pushpa adheres to a strong moral compass. Above all, he holds his wife, Srivalli (Rashmika Mandanna), in the highest regard. Furthermore, he’s prepared to take extreme measures to safeguard his family and cherished ones.

In a different scenario, if “Wicked” had been a single movie instead of two, it would’ve presented a dramatically distinct portrayal. Though this might appear self-explanatory to some, the actual implications are mind-boggling when you consider the substantial elements that the musical’s creative team intended to excise from the script.

Despite being recognized as one of today’s most distinguished and accomplished actors in the film industry, there are still some enthusiasts who primarily associate Robert Pattinson with his leading role in the blockbuster young adult vampire films from the Twilight series. However, even though Pattinson has maintained a consistent acting career since he first started out, including notable works such as Christopher Nolan’s Tenet and Robert Eggers’ The Lighthouse, some fans appear to have overlooked his entire body of work altogether.
