Over time, Charlie Hunnam has portrayed a variety of roles such as bikers, criminals, adventurers, and soccer thugs. In the not-too-distant future, he’ll expand this roster to include a murderer and grave robber by playing Ed Gein in the upcoming third installment of Ryan Murphy’s crime series anthology, Monster, which has previously delved into characters like Jeffrey Dahmer and the Menendez Brothers.
During the summer of 2021, the Marvel Cinematic Universe ventured into the Marvel multiverse for the first time on a large scale with the premiere of Loki’s first season, known as The Multiverse Saga. Notably, the primary Loki character portrayed by Tom Hiddleston and Sylvie’s version of the character were removed to an unknown place called The Void. During this journey, they encountered various other versions of Asgard’s trickster god, including Kid Loki, played by Jack Veal. It’s hardly unexpected that Denzel Washington shines in Gladiator II, given his stellar acting background. Throughout his career, he has consistently been recognized as one of the greatest actors of his time, with two Academy Awards and numerous additional nominations to his name, alongside a myriad of other accolades. Notably, his repertoire includes both blockbuster hits and critically acclaimed projects. However, in Gladiator II, Washington delivers an exuberance on-screen that audiences haven’t witnessed from him previously.
James Gunn’s latest project, Creature Commandos, marks his third successive critically acclaimed venture with DC. However, it’s the initial offering from his new slate at DC Studios, where he serves as co-head. In a technical sense, this is the fifth highly praised project in a row following his oversight of Matt Reeves’ DC Elseworlds’ HBO series, The Penguin, and the acquisition of Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story at Sundance. While not initially planned as the start of a rebooted DC universe, the massive success of Peacemaker‘s first season on HBO Max (now known as Max) prompted them to ask Gunn for another streaming series. He penned all seven episodes of Creature Commandos without a contract, and just as he was finalizing details, he was offered the position by Warner Bros. Discovery to oversee the entire universe alongside his producer friend, Peter Safran. As such, Creature Commandos is the first production since the series was already in progress.
