In a straightforward narrative, Ridley Scott’s proposed sequel to ‘Gladiator’, titled ‘Gladiator II’, follows the story of Lucius Verus Aurelius, better known as “Hanno”. Hanno is the grandson of the late emperor Marcus Aurelius and the son of the original film’s hero, Maximus Decimus Meridius. Born in Numidia, Hanno is seized during a battle and transported to Rome where he is forced to fight as a gladiator. This period of captivity unexpectedly becomes a blessing, enabling him to reconnect with his mother and regain his rightful standing within the Roman aristocracy.

Fans of Bollywood have long appreciated sports biopics, and there’s talk of another one coming soon. Not too long ago, well-known Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh hinted at an upcoming biopic about his life. He also suggested that Vicky Kaushal, known for his role in Bad Newz, could be a fitting actor to portray the main character in this film.

Following a significant delay, the “Strange New Worlds” season 3 of the “Star Trek” series is scheduled to premiere on television in 2025, marking the return of Captain Christopher Pike, played by Anson Mount, for additional escapades. Prior to this, the actor has shared his first audition tape for the franchise, and watching the “Discovery” character he was initially cast for, there’s one thing that seems strikingly evident.

Regarding “Gladiator II,” it’s been generating buzz in movie news for 2024, but not all the headlines are positive. For instance, there was a story about cinematographer John Mathieson reportedly labeling director Ridley Scott as “lazy” and claiming that Scott hurried the making of his recent films. However, it appears these comments were somewhat misconstrued. They originated from a 30-minute excerpt of a two-hour interview; and the cinematographer for the sequel has since cleared up the misunderstanding about what was actually said.

Since Morena Baccarin debuted as Sheriff Mickey on Fire Country, I can’t wait to see more of her character.
