In the thrill of Shawn Levy’s “Deadpool & Wolverine” hitting the big screen, it was like a heartfelt tribute to the comic book movie era of 20th Century Fox, merging seamlessly with the ongoing Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) saga. It was a delight to witness the reappearance of cherished characters such as Elektra, portrayed by Jennifer Garner, and Blade, played by Wesley Snipes – an event that might’ve inadvertently caused a delay for the latest incarnation of Blade. Chris Evans even got another shot at playing Johnny Storm before Marvel decided to reboot The Fantastic Four. Yet, the icing on the cake was Evans’ expletive-filled cameo during the end credits of “Deadpool & Wolverine”. The film editors later shared the hilarious behind-the-scenes story of how that scene was put together.

For the first time since the death of Matthew Perry a year ago today, members of his family are collectively sharing their thoughts. On October 28, 2023, Perry was discovered unconscious at his Los Angeles residence and later declared deceased. In the period following his passing, five individuals have been indicted, among them his personal assistant, two physicians, and two drug vendors. The official autopsy report reveals that the beloved “Friends” actor ultimately lost his life due to an overdose of ketamine, which he was using as part of his treatment for anxiety.

In a new take on “The Lord of the Rings” titled “The War of the Rohirrim“, we’ll see Saruman making his comeback on the big screen, with the original actor from Peter Jackson’s legendary trilogy providing his voice. This prequel, set approximately two centuries before the main storyline, showcases some well-known characters in animated form. However, the filmmakers had to think outside the box to resurrect the wizard, as Christopher Lee, who played this memorable villain in “The Lord of the Rings”, passed away years ago. Remarkably, he’s been brought back for the upcoming anime film to reprise his role as the infamous antagonist.

This October offers a blend of mischief and sweet surprises, and this year, the 50th season of Saturday Night Live has served up several fresh Halloween sketches featuring Hosts Michael Keaton and Ariana Grande.
