Following the appearance of both Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton’s portrayals of Batman in The Flash last year, along with George Clooney in an unexpected guest role, we are approaching a time when two live-action versions of the Caped Crusader will coexist in distinct realities. On one side, there is Robert Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne, who was introduced in 2022’s The Batman and dwells within the interconnected universe known as the “Batman Epic Crime Saga.” On the other hand, the guardian of Gotham City will also inhabit the new DC Universe franchise and is set to debut in The Brave and the Bold. Unfortunately, it seems that the production of this upcoming DC film may take some time, and as a Batman enthusiast, I find myself grappling with this delay.

Legendary figure Clint Eastwood undoubtedly stands as one of cinema’s most honored and gifted personalities, boasting a remarkable career that has lasted close to seven decades. Known for his acting and directing prowess, Eastwood has been at the helm of numerous critically-acclaimed films such as “Unforgiven,” “Million Dollar Baby,” and “American Sniper.” In 2006, he touched hearts worldwide with a pair of war dramas portraying the Battle of Iwo Jima: “Flags of Our Fathers” and “Letters from Iwo Jima.

In a delightful twist, Captain Kirk (William Shatner) and Mr. Spock are given a satisfying resolution in a short film that commemorates the 30th anniversary of Star Trek Generations. Titled “765874 – Unification,” this ten-minute movie offers fans an intriguing alternate scenario, where Kirk explores the Nexus. The production seamlessly blends live-action footage with computer-generated imagery. Notably, both Shatner and Susan Bay (widow of Leonard Nimoy) were involved as producers in the creation of this film, which was released by the Roddenberry Archive and OTOY.

It appears that obtaining fresh or completed content these days can be quite challenging. However, we’re fortunate as Paul W.S. Anderson is drawing from his extensive body of work for his latest project with long-time collaborator and spouse, and a first-time collaborator who isn’t a spouse. Their fantasy epic titled “In Lost Lands” is scheduled to premiere in theaters on February 25th, 2025.
