The upcoming HBO series based on J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter books is set to reboot the movie franchise and stay truer to the original stories, but it appears quite similar thus far. This project, due for release in 2026, boasts a fresh lineup of actors stepping into the roles we know from the films. A skilled team led by showrunner Francesca Gardiner (Succession) is joining an impressive roster to bring the books to the screen. Interestingly, just like the original series, this new Harry Potter will incorporate a distinctive, recognizable aspect – the visual effects used to create the magical world of Hogwarts.

Christmas movies form their unique category, encompassing numerous genres throughout the years. Depending on your preference for holiday viewing, you might find your ideal Christmas movie in a section featuring couples sporting red and green sweaters, a horror-themed platform, or something different entirely. For those who appreciate traditional Christmas stories, however, Disney+ offers an extensive selection – a fitting choice given the diverse movies Disney Studios has produced over the years.

During the 2010s’ early years, teen dystopian dramas became extremely popular. The phenomenal success of Suzanne Collins’ novel “The Hunger Games” and its sequels “Catching Fire” and “Mockingjay,” all of which were adapted into highly successful films, sparked a trend. Many other adaptations like “The Maze Runner,” “The Giver” (with a brief appearance by a young Taylor Swift), and “Ender’s Game” were produced as a result. The “Divergent” series also came out during this time, although it didn’t fare well after the initial movie had a moderate success.

As a fervent admirer, I’m thrilled to share that Dubai-based designer Roham Shamekh will unveil his innovative creation titled Pharrell’s Echoes at this year’s Design Miami, happening from December 4th to the 8th. This collection of sculptural masterpieces revamps the traditional concept of the Last Judgment with a contemporary flair, taking inspiration from the genius of music sensation Pharrell Williams.
