Among the best movies of the 1990s is one that is also especially memorably and iconically quotable. I am, of course, talking about Clueless. Amy Heckerling’s 1995 teen comedy takes us into the privileged life of Alicia Silverstone’s Cher Horowitz, a teenager who’s full of good intentions, but severely lacking in any kind of clue. I had a blast revisiting the decades-old movie to seek out some of the best, most iconic and memorable quotes from the film, so let’s get into it!

Amazon’s Prime Video has unveiled the initial teaser for their highly praised series. The returning stars, Peter Capaldi (famous for Doctor Who) and Jessica Raine (Call The Midwife, Becoming Elizabeth), will reprise their roles as Gideon and Lucy in this chilling supernatural crime drama. Last season focused on social worker Lucy Chambers who experienced nightly, terrifying visions at 3:33 a.m., often referred to as “the devil’s hour”. 2023’s “Elemental” presented Pixar with their most demanding technical hurdle, given the visual demands associated with crafting a romantic comedy-drama set within a society of classical elements such as wind, air, fire, and water. Many inhabitants of the city fear the destructive potential of the fire elementals, but a spirited young fire named Ember Lumen (played by Leah Lewis) and a melancholic water city inspector called Wade Ripple (portrayed by Mamodou Athie) embark on an adventure together despite their initial hesitations. As they traverse the stunning landscapes of Element City, they eventually develop feelings for each other.

During the late 70s up until the ’80s, slasher movies reached their peak of popularity. Many iconic horror films and characters emerged during this period, such as Michael Myers who terrorized his victims with brutal killings. Throughout history, horror has had its highs and lows, with various subgenres gaining prominence at different times. However, slasher movies have consistently left their mark over the years, as demonstrated by Ghostface from the Scream series appearing in the ’90s. Now, a new character has emerged within the slasher genre – Art the Clown, who first appeared in the “Terrifier” movie in 2016, played brilliantly by David Howard Thornton.

The German film and television industry is urging public broadcasters to enhance their programming quality, warning that a failure to do so could jeopardize their democratic credibility. This call comes amidst growing criticism from Germany’s rising far-right movement.
