As a huge fan of Bob Newhart‘s, I am absolutely thrilled to hear that CBS is paying tribute to this comedy legend with a special show. Newhart was one of those rare entertainers who could make me laugh out loud with just the sound of his voice. His deadpan delivery and impeccable timing were truly unique, and I still remember listening to his comedy album “The Button Down Mind of Bob Newhart” for hours on end as a young kid.

Bob Newhart gained recognition through his comedy album “The Button-Down Mind of Bob Newhart,” released in 1960. This recording highlighted his exceptional comedic timing and deadpan delivery. Subsequently, he graced CBS with starring roles in the sitcoms “The Bob Newhart Show” (1972-78) and “Newhart” (1982-90). The latter’s series finale left a lasting impression on TV viewers. Additionally, Newhart made an unforgettable appearance on “The Big Bang Theory,” earning his only Emmy Award in 2013 for his performance.
