As a seasoned sneakerhead with decades of collecting under my belt, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia when it comes to the Lunar New Year and its unique sneaker releases. The Nike Dunk Low “Year of the Snake” is no exception. With its rich olive base, off-white overlays, and the iconic Swoosh adorned in “Jade Horizon,” this sneaker is a testament to Nike’s ability to blend tradition with modernity.
Nike Dunk Low – “Year of the Snake” Edition
As we get closer to the new year, I can’t help but feel excited about more than just the regular calendar change. It’s almost time for the Lunar New Year, specifically the Year of the Snake, and that’s something special! Just like every year, Nike is jumping into the festivities, unveiling several iconic sneaker designs in theme-inspired colorways. This year, the Dunk Low will join the Air Force 1 Low and Kobe 5 Protro in sporting a “Year of the Snake” color scheme. Can’t wait to see them!
In this updated version of The Dunk, it sports a “Medium Olive” tone on its leather foundation, and the overlays exhibit a soft white shade, accentuated by an olive mini Swoosh at the sides and “Jade Horizon” Swooshes on both sides of the shoe. Additional stitching on the lateral Swoosh introduces a vibrant red element to the pair, while the tongue tag boasts a darker red snakeskin pattern.
Currently, it’s undisclosed when Nike will release the “Year of the Snake” colorway of the Dunk Low. Keep an eye out for announcements, including detailed images, as we anticipate the sneaker to become available in early 2025 through Nike SNKRS and selected retailers at a starting price of $125 USD.
