Children of the Discordance Launches “Second Edition” Label

As a seasoned fashion enthusiast with a penchant for all things vintage and archival, I can’t help but feel a thrill of anticipation at the unveiling of Children of the Discordance‘s new sub-label, Second Edition. Having traversed the labyrinthine streets of Tokyo in search of rare gems hidden within the city’s myriad boutiques, I have come to appreciate Hideaki Shikama’s discerning eye for style.

From its inception, Hideaki Shikama has imbued his affection for vintage and historical fashion into the collections of Children of the Discordance. Now, this brand is launching a separate label called Second Edition, which will only be sold at Japanese retailer B’2nd. Children of the Discordance has revealed the first glimpses of its new sub-label, showcasing a minimalist collection of functional essentials for its debut.

A collection of outerwear features subtle tones of gray, brown, and navy, comprising a long parka with an oversized collar, a fleece jacket mimicking a mock-neck design with raised panels, and a bomber jacket showcasing vents at the chest area.

In the sea of outerwear garments, a sleeveless puffer vest catches the eye, characterized by its spacious hood. Paired with it is a pair of faded carpenter pants that give off a relaxed vibe. Meanwhile, a navy blue track pant comes to attention due to intricate taping along the side seam. The trousers are tailored to have deep pleats, lending a more formal, elegant touch to the overall look.

As I slip into my sturdy gaming attire, the shirts within seem to speak louder. A classic plaid flannel, complete with a camp collar, shares its story, while another button-up in a warm tan hue bursts with a vibrant tribal design that blends into intriguing geometric patterns.

Starting from November 2, you can find the initial assortment of The Children of The Discordance’s Second Edition in B’2nd’s online shop.
