If you’re reading this, don’t forget to watch the new adaptation of Harlan Coben’s work on Netflix. His latest novel-turned-series, titled “Caught,” premiered on Netflix today, March 26, 2025. Additionally, Coben shared some updates about his upcoming works, namely “Runaway” and “I Will Find You.
According to recent news from Variety, author Harlan Coben has shared some intriguing tidbits about his upcoming projects. Specifically, it was revealed that the films “Runaway,” featuring Minnie Driver, James Nesbitt, and Ruth Jones, is currently being filmed in England. Additionally, the production for “I Will Find You,” starring Sam Worthington, is set to start sooner than expected! Regrettably, there were no updates provided on Coben’s Myron Bolitar television series with renowned TV creator David E. Kelley.
Speaking with Variety, the author explained that:
The film “I Will Find You” will begin production within the next two to three weeks for Netflix US, featuring Sam Worthington. This means they’re also included in my broader agreement with Netflix.
Indeed, this is merely one of several projects that the author has in the works with the streaming platform. Apart from the miniseries “Caught”, a total of 13 titles by this author are currently being prepared for some form of screen adaptation, thanks to his ongoing creative partnership with Netflix. Some of his previous successes on this platform include “Fool Me Once” (2024), “Hold Tight” (2022), “The Innocent” (2021), “Stay Close” and “Gone for Good” (both 2021), “The Stranger” (2020), “The Woods” (2020), and the 2018 series “Safe”. If you’re a fan of his work, then there’s also “Caught”, the latest adaptation of a Coben story, which recently premiered.
If You Liked ‘Stay Close,’ ‘Shelter,’ or ‘Fool Me Once,’ You Should Check Out ‘Caught’
Harlan Coben was determined that the TV adaptation of “Caught” would stand on its own merits, and it appears his efforts have proven fruitful, especially considering the significant change in setting from New Jersey to Argentina. This is the first time Netflix has adapted one of Coben’s stories in collaboration with their Latin American division, and it seems the author is highly satisfied with the final product.
As a movie critic, I find myself captivated by this creative endeavor. The concept of weaving an American author’s novel with Argentine flavor – their exceptional storytelling and distinctive landscapes – is truly intriguing to me. From the outset, Soledad Villamil was my top choice for the lead role, and I made it a priority to ensure her inclusion in the project. However, I chose to maintain a minimalist approach, allowing the authenticity of Argentine sensibilities to shine without excessive interference.
As a movie enthusiast, I can’t help but recognize Villamil from his groundbreaking role in the 2010 Oscar-winning Argentinian drama, “The Secret in Their Eyes.” In this new film, he takes on the character of Ema, a tenacious journalist tirelessly pursuing truth in a heart-wrenching investigation. The official synopsis reads:
In the city of Bariloche, nestled within Argentinian Patagonia, journalist Ema Garay gains recognition in the digital media realm by unmasking law-evading criminals. However, her life takes an unexpected twist when she encounters Leo Mercer, a well-respected community member, who is implicated in her probe concerning the vanishing of a 16-year-old girl. As Ema delves deeper to uncover the truth, she’s compelled to grapple with her inner struggles.
