Connie Britton Reveals Secrets About ‘Zero Day’ Season 2 and New Netflix Film!

The main actresses from two highly popular Netflix series are set to appear in an upcoming film titled “The Life List“. Previously, Connie Britton, known for her role in the successful show “Zero Day” alongside Robert De Niro, and Sofia Carson, who acted with Taron Egerton in the movie “Carry-On“, are now sharing the screen together in a Netflix production. However, their roles in this new project may surprise you. Before this collaboration, MovieWeb asked Britton about the possibility of reprising her role in “Zero Day” for a second season, given the show’s massive success. The actor responded:

Speaking of Zero Day, wouldn’t it be fascinating to develop a follow-up? There’s so much untold story that could be explored. As far as I know, no one has considered this idea yet, but I believe it could be exceptionally captivating. I’m quite excited about the prospect.

In “The Life List,” actress Britton portrays Elizabeth Rose, a family matriarch who passes away at the beginning of the movie. She leaves a series of tasks for her daughter, Alex (Carson), which forms an existential treasure hunt. Upon completion of each task, Alex receives DVDs containing heartfelt and insightful messages from her mother. These moments when Alex views these videos are among the most touching scenes in the film. The fascinating aspect is that Britton and Carson barely knew each other before these moving DVDs were recorded, and it’s only later that Carson’s character gets to see them all.

Britton expressed his amazement by saying, “No, we didn’t rehearse together beforehand, and I still can’t believe it!” He credits Sofia and their director, Adam Brooks, for creating such an open and passionate environment about the story. When they finally met, they instantly wanted to connect with each other. Britton further mentioned this point.

We aimed to build a genuine connection since we had shared experiences. For instance, Sofia often spoke about her mom and their bond, while I shared stories about my son and our relationship. Both were open and generous with their feelings, making us comfortable enough to reveal our vulnerabilities. This allowed us to develop a deep connection off-screen, even though we weren’t physically together during filming. It was truly enjoyable to engage in such heartfelt discussions.

Sofia Carson on Finally Meeting Elizabeth Rose

Carson had thoroughly immersed herself in the script and contemplated the characters for quite some time. Therefore, it was incredibly impactful when she ultimately took her seat to capture her heartfelt responses to a spirit portraying her mother from beyond the grave. It wasn’t her real mother that came to mind during this scene, but rather Elizabeth Rose, the character in the movie.

In character, I strive to separate myself from personal feelings while working on set,” Carson shared. “For instance, I contemplated Elizabeth Rose’s bond and what it would be like to speak with my recently deceased mother on-screen, experiencing the intense, complex emotions that such a moment would evoke.” Carson further added:

As a movie buff, there’s nothing quite like the thrill of popping in my first DVD surprise – a heartfelt gift from Connie and Adam. I hadn’t anticipated seeing anyone on my screen beforehand. The cameras started rolling, and suddenly, there was Connie, captured in a selfie she took herself before filming even began. It was an intensely emotional moment for me, as for two long years, I’d been imagining the very instant I’d lay eyes on Elizabeth Rose for the first time.

Each time I spotted a DVD, I’d instruct the entire team to pause filming and refrain from rehearsing prior to the first take, so I could genuinely react to her initial appearance, shared Carson. “It always felt so authentic. It was a breathtaking moment watching her on that screen,” he added. And it’s certainly captivating for the viewers too. The Life List will be available for streaming on Netflix starting March 28, 2025. Here’s the link to watch: [Netflix Link]
