Warning: Plot details for Daredevil: Born Again’s Episode 8, titled “Isle of Joy,” are revealed below. You can watch it now if you have a Disney+ subscription.
Only one episode remains from season 1 of Daredevil: Born Again, scheduled for 2025 TV broadcasts, and the penultimate episode has made a significant impact in various ways. Matt’s worlds are now intertwined to an extent that something significant is about to unfold, as “Isle of Joy” concludes with him lying injured on the floor at Fisk’s gala. Pointdexter managed to escape prison, Vanessa took Adam’s life, Matt discovered that Vanessa was responsible for Foggy’s death, Fisk is asserting his power among New York’s elite, the Task Force has become uncontrollable, Daniel received an unexpected promotion, and no one seems to be sharing information with Heather.
I’m quite apprehensive about the last part, given that Heather is surrounded by peril without fully realizing its depth, and I have more queries than solutions regarding other matters. Apart from Daredevil making a return after his gunshot wound in the series “Daredevil: Born Again”, there’s one thing I’m certain of from a specific trailer: the upcoming Season 1 finale will feature a lot of Jon Bernthal as the Punisher alongside Charlie Cox as Hell’s Kitchen’s Devil.
Since Frank Castle was absent in the second-to-last episode, it’s clear that all fresh content involving the Punisher shown in this Disney+ trailer must be part of the final episode. There’s a considerable amount to see, so here it is:
Greetings, Frank Castle! Although many shots from this trailer have been previewed before, there are a few notable ones that seem to be reserved for the climax. One noteworthy image is of Vanessa and Wilson Fisk, both still dressed in their gala attire, but with an unusual amount of blood on them – I initially thought the blood was from Fisk attacking someone. However, it appears that “Isle of Joy” reveals that at least some of the blood belongs to Matt, who has been shot and… let’s just say, spread quite extensively over the mayor.
Additionally, Jon Bernthal reappears wearing his Punisher costume and sporting hair similar to his Netflix’s Daredevil and Punisher series days. It appears that Matt and Frank may join forces during a fight at Matt’s apartment, given the frequent appearances of this set throughout the season. Given that Matt was wounded in the penultimate episode, it seems likely that he could benefit greatly from any assistance he can get when facing off against adversaries.

Ever since Charlie Cox shared his excitement about working with Jon Bernthal in their scenes as Matt and Frank, I’ve been eagerly awaiting more interactions between these two characters. Though some fans might be disappointed that Daredevil hasn’t been seen fighting crime yet in “Born Again”, Cox’s portrayal of a Matt slowly becoming increasingly unhinged has been captivating. Given the trailer’s indication that Frank is still committed to violence, I can’t wait to see how this version of Matt responds to that.
It’s true that edits can occur during the process of creating a trailer and the final product being released for streaming. For example, Matt’s reference to Frank’s hatchet in the initial trailer was not included when the episode debuted on Disney+. However, since Jon Bernthal’s role as The Punisher is ongoing and “Daredevil: Born Again” is proceeding with Season 2, we can rest assured that both characters will continue their stories beyond this finale.
It appears that “Born Again” has a lot to cover in the final episode of the season, and I’m hopeful that Karen will make an appearance for a few scenes with Frank following their relationship in “The Punisher,” as well as Matt after all they’ve experienced on his show. Catch the Season 1 finale of “Daredevil: Born Again” on Disney+, airing Tuesday, April 15 at 9 p.m. ET.
