As a huge fan of both horror and comic books, I can’t contain my excitement about the latest development in the industry! Actor David Dastmalchian, known for his chilling performances in films like “Late Night with the Devil” and his comics debut in “Count Crowley,” is teaming up with Panick Entertainment for a new horror comic series. I’m thrilled to see him delve deeper into the world of comics and collaborate with longtime associate Leah Kilpatrick on a revenge tale that promises to be both gory and scary.
I’m thrilled to jump back into the comic book universe and team up with the freshly launched Panick Entertainment for a chilling new horror project!
As a huge fan of horror movies and comics, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news with fellow enthusiasts! Dastmalchian, an actor whose talent has left me both terrified and captivated on the silver screen in this year’s chilling masterpiece “Late Night with the Devil,” is dipping his toes into the world of comics with Dark Horse’s spine-tingling series “Count Crowley.”
A group of experienced professionals from the entertainment and comic industries, some of whom have worked with DC, have established a new company named Panic. Their primary goal is to specialize in storytelling within the genres of horror and science fiction. Starting with comics and graphic novels, they plan to expand into film, television, video games, and other media.
I’m a big fan of the dynamic team leading this innovative company. Headed by Kris Longo, the brilliant former publisher of Heavy Metal Magazine, who now serves as CEO, we’re in good hands. With his rich industry experience, he sets the vision for our company.
Charis Chiang, a previous finance manager at DC Comics, now holds the position of CFO in our new company. Mark McCann takes on the role of chief creative officer. Previously from IDW, Chris Ryall functions as Panick’s advisor, offering expertise on project planning, naming and conceptualization.
The company is officially unveiling itself and some of its talent today at San Diego Comic Con.
As a passionate gamer, I’d put it this way: I’m thrilled to be part of a gaming community where our company is committed to creating an extensive collection of comics first. These comics will not only serve as the heart of our storyline but also pave the way for potential expansions into exciting new territories like movies, TV shows, video games, and other transmedia projects.
Moreover, Modern Fanatic, Longo’s marketing agency specializing in fan bases, will aid in promoting Panick. This collaboration aims to extend Panick’s reach beyond comic stores and into a larger audience.
“Long made this announcement: our group uniquely combines creativity, expertise, and enthusiasm. We’re eager to thrill audiences with captivating stories and indelible characters in the genres of horror and science fiction.”
Via email, Dastmalchian expressed his excitement: “Leah and I will be part of the Panick team soon. We’re brainstorming some terrifyingly gruesome and eerie comic concepts for you – be prepared!”
Some notable talents joining the lineup for Panick’s debut roster include experienced comic artist Bart Sears and his partner Michelle Sears, illustrator Shannon Eric Denton, screenwriter Dirk Blackman, director Brendan Columbus, and artist Tehani Farr.
