Deadpool & Wolverine: Jennifer Garner Concept Art Reveals Comic-Accurate Elektra

As a movie enthusiast with a deep affection for Marvel comics and their cinematic adaptations, I must say the latest concept art for Deadpool & Wolverine has me quite intrigued! The potential return of Jennifer Garner as Elektra is certainly an exciting prospect, especially considering her previous portrayal in Daredevil.

New concept art for Deadpool & Wolverine reveals a look for Jennifer Garner‘s Elektra that would have closely resembled her comic book counterpart. While Deadpool & Wolverine put the return of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine front and center, the film had plenty of cameos that remained a surprise until the film’s release, such as Wesley Snipes’ Blade and Channing Tatum as Gambit. One that was spoiled a year in advance, though, was Jennifer Garner’s return as Elektra, yet the studio did not show her in any of the marketing, assuming that general audiences might have forgotten about her involvement.

As a movie buff eager to share my insights, I’ve recently had the pleasure of witnessing the on-screen team-up of Deadpool and Wolverine. With the spoiler veil now lifted, there’s been a flood of fascinating behind-the-scenes tidbits surfacing from the film’s production.

Elektra Has Never Quite Managed a Comic-Accurate Look

Jennifer Garner initially portrayed Elektra in 2003’s Daredevil, donning a black suit instead of the character’s traditional comic book attire. In 2005’s Elektra, she continued to deviate from the original look by wearing red but without her signature bandana, which she had worn since her introduction in Daredevil #168 (January 1981). The current version of Elektra, played by Élodie Yung, initially wore a predominantly grey and black outfit in Daredevil Season 2 on Netflix, later adopting the classic red look without the bandana for The Defenders. Although Marvel Studios may have intended for Garner’s Elektra to embody the iconic comic book appearance, they chose a costume that was more similar to her previous movie roles instead.

It’s speculated that Marvel may have chosen not to give Elektra her trademark appearance initially so they could save it for a future MCU appearance. Despite the 2005 film “Elektra” being labeled one of the worst superhero movies, Jennifer Garner’s return has been applauded, and fans are hoping this isn’t the last we see of her in the role. Marvel Studios could introduce Garner’s Elektra as the leader of a multiverse team called The Exiles, or she might reappear in the upcoming “Avengers: Doomsday”. Additionally, there’s talk about Élodie Yung’s potential return in “Daredevil: Born Again”, possibly donning the character’s iconic costume. However, signs of this happening have been scarce so far.
