Aamir Khan recently had a conversation with ABP News where he discussed his earning methods within the film industry. The star of Ghajini revealed that for approximately two decades now, he has abandoned the practice of receiving a set actor’s fee. Instead, he earns income only when his movies achieve success at the box office.

For the last 20-21 years, I’ve been working without charging a fee for acting in films. Essentially, I only profit from a movie if it appeals to the audience; otherwise, I don’t make any money either.

Now that he transitioned from acting to producing, Aamir has a deeper grasp of the financial aspects of movie-making. Consequently, he believes that if a production’s budget is set at 200 crore Indian rupees and the star demands a high salary, it becomes highly unlikely for the film to recoup its costs if it fails to succeed.

In that same interview, the highly skilled actor shared another interesting tidbit – he relies on one of the oldest strategies to generate income within the field. Consequently, this affords him the creative liberty to explore new ideas. On a professional note, you’ll soon see the PK actor in Sitaare Zameen Par, where he also serves as a co-producer. As a producer himself, his upcoming venture is Lahore 1947, featuring Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta on screen.
