Donald Trump Says He’ll Ask Rupert Murdoch to Direct Fox News to Halt Negative Ads Against Him

As a long-time gamer of political theater, I find myself deeply entrenched in the latest act unfolding between President Trump and Fox News. It’s like watching a real-life game of chess, where each move is met with anticipation and intrigue. The latest twist, with Trump seeking to censor negative ads on Fox News for 21 days, is certainly an unprecedented play that has the potential to either solidify his base or backfire spectacularly.

On Friday morning during an extended interview on Fox & Friends, ex-President Donald Trump declared himself as “the most stable individual” and reiterated his criticism that the channel isn’t solely boosting his reelection campaign and is airing ads backing Vice President Kamala Harris’s presidential run. Later, he mentioned that he would personally discuss this issue with network founder Rupert Murdoch to request that all negative ads be halted for a period of 21 days.

Trump spent most of his time on Fox News’ “Curvy Couch” morning show on Friday with four other hosts, discussing various topics including his 2024 campaign, his competitor Harris, and the Al Smith charity dinner held in New York the previous night. During this event, he delivered a speech that included jokes penned by the Fox News team, but it appears he wasn’t pleased with their humor. When asked about these jokes during the show on Friday, he made it clear to viewers that he didn’t find them particularly amusing.

Trump responded, “Indeed, many individuals have been assisting me. Numerous individuals, in fact. A few from Fox News, but I’d rather not mention that. However, they came up with some jokes, and for the most part, I didn’t find any of them particularly amusing.

During the morning talk show later on, he referenced his past statement, “very stable genius,” which he made during his 2016 debate with Hillary Clinton, where he exclaimed, “I am the most stable person” amidst questions from hosts about accusations from Harris that he is unstable and unbalanced.

Each week, they attempt a new approach but so far, nothing has been successful. It appears this is their strategy for this week, yet it doesn’t seem to be effective. I consider myself quite steady in my demeanor – recall when they referred to me as ‘the stable genius?'” Trump shared with the Fox & Friends hosts.

He declared, “I’m remarkably consistent as a person,” emphasizing his extensive experience. “Over the past four years, we’ve achieved remarkable success. Our economy flourished to unprecedented levels. Our border security measures were unparalleled.

The most unexpected instance during Trump’s interview on Fox & Friends was when he revealed his intention to approach Rupert Murdoch, founder of News Corp and owner of Fox News, to prevent any negative ads against his campaign from airing for the next three weeks leading up to the election. This admission came after being questioned about another event he was attending while back in New York, prior to this discussion on potential censorship of free speech on an independent cable news network for political gain.

Trump shared with the hosts that he plans to meet Rupert Murdoch, an important occasion for him. “I’m not certain if he’s excited about me disclosing it,” he added. “During our conversation, I’ll ask him to do something straightforward because I can’t discuss this matter with anyone else – refrain from airing negative ads for 21 days, and avoid featuring those who fabricate information. I’ll tell him, ‘Rupert, if you comply with my request, we’ll achieve victory, as everyone desires that.’

Earlier on the show, he mentioned he’d noticed the negative ads directed at him and his campaign.

Back then, they didn’t use negative advertisements. To put it simply, when I step away from here, I’ll be greeted by several negative ads. After leaving, if Kamala has her way, I might face 12 consecutive negative ads with little opposition for about three weeks. I believe it’s time to reconsider this approach. I think we shouldn’t rely on negative advertisements anymore. They can be quite challenging.

Election day is on November 5, which is 18 days from today.

Fox News broadcasted a segment featuring Donald Trump dropping by a barbershop located in the Bronx during his visit to New York City on Thursday. In the Castle Hill district, part of the New York borough, Trump engaged in a brief question-and-answer session with the staff at Knockout Barbershop, the GOP nominee’s chosen venue for this interaction.

Before I even stepped into the store, a passionate advocate for Palestine caught everyone’s eye. They were apprehended by police after trying (but unsuccessfully) to ignite a Palestinian flag. Since the president hadn’t shown up yet, it seemed like this individual might not have technically broken any laws just yet.

In one of his barbershop series, Fox News correspondent Lawrence Jones ventures to various places throughout the nation to discussthe significant problems affecting the African-American community and the factors influencing voting choices during this election period.
