As a seasoned gamer and collector of unique timepieces, I can’t help but be thrilled by DOXA’s latest homage to maritime explorer Clive Cussler. Having grown up reading Cussler’s novels, I’ve always been captivated by his adventurous spirit and the intrigue of underwater exploration. So, when I heard about this new SUB 300T Sharkhunter Clive Cussler special edition, I was immediately drawn in.
In honor of Clive Cussler’s 93rd birthday, DOXA is releasing a fresh version of the SUB 300T watch as a tribute to this esteemed maritime discoverer.
In May last year, the watchmaker introduced a SUB 3 Clive Cussler edition timepiece with a worn appearance and a compass-style dial. This latest version is similar to the previous model, featuring a 42.5mm stainless steel case and an aged patina beads-of-rice bracelet. The earlier model showcased a golden yellow dial, but this new special edition watch boasts a blackened Sharkhunter dial instead.
A Swiss-made mechanical and automatic heart lies at the center of this timepiece, providing it with a 38-hour power reserve and a steady beat of 28,800 hourly vibrations. Robust enough for depths up to 30 ATM, the watch comes with an extra black FKM rubber strap as an added accessory.
As a seasoned collector of unique timepieces, I’ve come across some remarkable pieces in my time. But among them all, the SUB 300T Sharkhunter Clive Cussler edition stands out as one of the most intriguing. The history that this watch carries on its caseback is nothing short of captivating. NUMA, a renowned non-profit organization founded by none other than the legendary author Clive Cussler himself, has unearthed numerous historical artifacts and shipwrecks throughout the years. And now, their stories are immortalized on this very watch.
