Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D: How to Wake The Villagers In Norvik

As an old-timer gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that the Dragon Quest 3 Remake has certainly taken me on a wild ride. The village of Norvik, shrouded in mystery and enchantment, has left quite an impression on me, to say the least.

In the remade version of Dragon Quest 3, the peaceful village of Norvik is under a spell causing its residents to fall into a heavy sleep.

This enigmatic incident seems connected to the Fairy Queen and her child, whose unintentional actions are believed to have set off the curse.

This piece provides instructions on rousing the residents of Norvik and removing the spell that has been cast over their community.

How to Wake The Villagers In Norvik

Norvik is located to the north of Romaria and slightly northeast of Khoryv.

As soon as you enter the village, you’ll find yourself confronted by an eerie sight – villagers seeming to stand motionless, trapped in a state resembling a deep, trance-like slumber.

The village isn’t very forthcoming with information on the reason behind these events, leaving players puzzled about their next course of action.

However, a visit to the southwestern house gives you a solid lead.

A elderly resident from the upper level narrates a chilling tale, implying that the townsfolk are afflicted by a mysterious spell.

He mentions the Dreamstone, a mystical artifact capable of shattering the enchantment, which must be taken to the Faeries.

To reveal more about the Dreamstone, head south from Norvik and trek through the forest.

Follow the dirt path westward to reach the Faerie Village, illuminated by shimmering lights adorning a majestic tree.

This village carries an allure that’s hard to resist, yet it can be quite chilly and standoffish. Here, the fairies tend to keep their distance, and even the Fairy Queen seems indifferent towards visitors.

But you’ll find an old man near the pond at the heart of the village who will speak with you.

He points out that the Dreamstone is in the Underground Lake and advises you to find it and bring it back to the Queen to lift the curse.

The Underground Lake is southwest of the Faerie Village, near the coastline.

Given the abundance of dangerous animals inside, ensure that your team is well-equipped with ample healing supplies and robust equipment prior to entering the cavern.

The first floor (B1) has a simple layout, with side paths full of treasures.

A clergyman in the southwestern part whispers about mournful sounds echoing from the inner rooms, suggesting a future event of sadness or foreboding.

Conversely, the second level (B2) offers a rejuvenating spring which restores both your party’s Health Points (HP) and Magic Points (MP) completely.

Thoroughly explore every nook and cranny, for this place hides valuable items like the Care Riviere, serving as a protector of speech.

On the third level (B3), you’ll find an expansive layout offering multiple entry points for valuable items. Among these treasures is a robust Steel Broadsword, which significantly boosts your attacking prowess.

Finally, the fourth floor (B4) leads you to a chest surrounded by statues.

Within, you discover the Dreamstone along with a letter penned by a Faerie Princess detailing the heartrending tale that led to Norvik’s misfortune.

After obtaining the Dreamstone, teleport back to the Faerie Village.

Initially, the Fairy Queen appears uninterested, but upon reading the letter and spotting the Dreamstone, her attitude becomes more tender.

She apologetically gives you a magical dust called Wakey Dust, which has the power to lift the enchantment placed on Norvik.

Head back to Norvik and apply the Wakey Dust when you enter the village.

A short cutscene depicts the villagers awakening from their slumber, confused yet unharmed.

To them, it’s as though they just closed their eyes, and time flew by.

With the spell broken, Norvik reemerges as a lively hamlet once more, offering an Inn and a store for its residents and visitors alike.

Despite the villagers carrying on with life seemingly unaffected, you’ve managed to restore their world back to how it was before the incident.
