Initially, I was utterly terrified. To be frank, I was absolutely petrified out of my wits. Truth be told, I didn’t have the slightest idea how to assert myself at all. However, I must say, I genuinely enjoyed that movie. I believe we set a strong base for her character and continued expanding upon it. It’s truly delightful to have worked on this character for a decade. To put it simply, such longevity isn’t common unless you’re working in television. If someone were to ask me to reprise the role in 50 years, I certainly hope I’m still around to portray an elderly version of her [Laughs].

It’s surprising to think that Olsen, given the adoration and critical praise for her portrayal of Wanda, might have initially struggled with nerves. Yet, it appears she cherishes her ten-year journey as the Marvel hero just as we relish witnessing the character’s tale unfold.

Discussions concerning Elizabeth Olsen’s bond with Wanda/The Scarlet Witch arose not long after she openly shared her perspectives on her connection to the superhero genre in general. During an appearance on NPR’s Wildcard podcast, the Emmy-nominated star of WandaVision expressed candidly about the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), revealing:

After dedicating numerous years to Marvel, I feel compelled to ensure any additional work I take on aligns closely with my personal preferences, as fulfilling as it is to be part of this universe and proud of what I’ve achieved with the character. However, it’s not the kind of art that I typically enjoy consuming, a fact I’ve been open about.

It’s not necessary for everyone who appears in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) to be a die-hard fan. An example is Gwyneth Paltrow, who momentarily forgot that she played Pepper Potts in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Although superhero films may not be Elizabeth Olsen’s preferred genre, she has poured her heart into her roles as Wanda Maximoff.

Previously, fans have expressed their desire to see Olsen in either “Avengers: Doomsday” or “Secret Wars”. Despite her absence from the cast announcement for “Doomsday”, Kevin Feige has hinted that it’s not the complete cast list. Here’s hoping we’ll see her again, and that Wanda didn’t truly perish at the end of “Doctor Strange 2”.
