Eminem Used AI to Voice Slim Shady and Depict His Image for ‘The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)’

As a longtime fan of Eminem and hip hop music in general, I have been eagerly anticipating his latest release “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce).” The album has not only lived up to my expectations but exceeded them.

Recently, Eminem’s album “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)” has been dominating the music charts and drawing significant interest from both fans and critics. This record signifies the comeback and swan song for Slim Shady as Eminem bids farewell to this persona within his music.

In the new music video for “Houdini” from their latest album, Eminem and his alter ego Slim Shady collaborate. The clip shows a younger version of Slim Shady traveling from the past to the present day, engaging in a rap battle with Eminem. The intro to the song is borrowed from “Without Me Part 2,” where Eminem rhymes, “I’m back, I’m back once more/Tell a friend, it’s Boric Gord.” Fans might be curious about how Slim Shady managed to reappear in both audio and visual forms. According to Damien Scott from Billboard, the use of AI made this possible.

To achieve this, Scott engages the services of Metaphysic. He explains that Metaphysic provides a range of tools enabling artists to generate and oversee digital representations of themselves. These digital versions can be employed in artists’ personal projects or granted licenses to external entities for movies, television shows, and commercial ventures. In response to the growing issue of AI diminishing the uniqueness and creativity in composition and blending, Scott suggests that artists safeguard their identity and authenticity by registering with Metaphysic. By doing so, they can establish a database of their facial expressions, voice recordings, and performance videos from various stages of their career. Metaphysic offers artists the advantage of controlling AI usage through self-licensing agreements. (Watch the video above for more details.)
