heads up: This write-up discloses spoilers for the movie “Final Destination Bloodlines“; the deaths depicted in it vary in likelihood, with some being more probable than others. This film is part of the supernatural horror series that started with the 2000 film “Final Destination” starring Devon Sawa. The franchise follows different groups of individuals who narrowly escape imminent death, but eventually meet their demise at the hands of Death in even more gruesome and extravagant ways to uphold its predestined plans. These fatalities range from sudden incidents such as car accidents to intricate sequences of events akin to a Rube Goldberg machine.

2025’s “Final Destination Bloodlines” maintains the series’ gruesome trend by killing off almost all of its main characters. Directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein from a script written by Guy Busick and Lori Evans Taylor, this film boasts an impressive ensemble cast that includes Kaitlyn Santa Juana known for “The Flash”, Teo Briones from “Chucky”, Brec Bassinger of “Stargirl”, Richard Harmon of “The 100”, Owen Patrick Joyner of “Julie and the Phantoms” and Tony Todd, who starred in “Candyman”. Among the lead actors, only Todd’s character William Bludworth, the recurring mortician, manages to survive. However, it is hinted that even he might not make it long after the movie ends.

8. Julia Campbell

Similar Deaths Have Actually Happened

In the movie “Bloodlines”, it’s highly likely that the character Julia Campbell (Anna Lore), a cousin of the main character Stefani Reyes (Kaitlyn Santa Juana), meets her end. Early in the film, Julia is tragically crushed by a garbage truck’s compactor after accidentally falling into it. Deaths in the “Final Destination” series often tap into common fears, and being trapped and crushed inside a garbage truck is not only a terrifying concept but has regrettably been a reality for some people historically. So, while Julia’s death scene may be gruesome, given these facts, it isn’t too far-fetched to imagine this could happen.

The starkness of her demise, despite seeming somewhat implausible in a storytelling sense, is overshadowed by it. The sequence involving a leaf blower stirring up dust that blinds children, making them kick a soccer ball towards her, which hits her face and sends her tumbling into a trash can being picked up by a truck, was deliberately designed to be implausible. When Stefani forewarns Erik about this very scenario, it’s intended to seem incredible so that when it actually happens, it underscores for everyone else the absolute accuracy of her intuition regarding Death and its workings.

7. Darlene Campbell

Her Quick Death Could Easily Take Place

In the movie “Final Destination Bloodlines,” Stefani’s mother, Darlene (played by Rya Kihlstedt), meets a tragic end when she’s struck by a falling lamppost at the secluded property of her own estranged mother, Iris (Gabrielle Rose). This event seems plausible for several reasons. First, it’s possible because heavy objects like this lamppost can indeed cause severe harm upon falling. Second, Iris’ property appears to be a dangerous setup, filled with hazardous items that could potentially harm those who are unaware of the risks. Whether Iris intentionally created this death trap for self-protection or to study Death’s design remains unclear, but it’s evident that the area is riddled with objects that could pose a threat to the unwary.

6. Iris Campbell

Her Death Is Slightly More Rube Goldberg-Esque

In a way reminiscent of the earlier films in the Final Destination series, Iris’ demise follows a less convoluted sequence of events compared to others due to Death’s eagerness to claim her after decades of evading it. Similar to Darlene’s death later in the movie, Iris meets her end in an almost predictable manner when she is impaled by her own weather vane, given the precarious and makeshift nature of her compound’s exterior.

5. Howard Campbell

His Death Is Scary But Improbable

The passing of Stefani’s uncle Howard (Alex Zahara) carries a strong impact due to its exploitation of two universal fears, first by having him accidentally step on a shard of glass and later by his head being fatally crushed by a lawnmower. However, the circumstances leading to this unfortunate incident seem highly unlikely. Stepping on the glass and tumbling over is plausible, but the sequence of events where the mower somehow starts on its own and rises high enough to fall and kill him suggests that Death had to significantly alter the situation in order to orchestrate its lethal plan for Howard in such a precise manner.

4. Stefani & Charlie Reyes

Their Deaths Strain Credibility

In the closing scene of the film, Stefani and her brother Charlie (Teo Briones) perish seconds after understanding they hadn’t thwarted Death’s plot. Their demise entails a penny on the train tracks causing the train to derail, hurtling towards them but stopping just short, instead unleashing logs into the air that crumble them as they flee. Although the logs recall the highway disaster in Final Destination 2, their appearance (and the entire scenario of the train derailing) seems rather illogical regarding real-world physics.

3. The Skyview Incident

It Preys On Real Fears, But Requires A Lot To Go Wrong At Once

In the latest installment of the Final Destination series, titled “Final Destination Bloodlines,” the narrative unfolds with a chilling premonition of a catastrophic event. This time, the event takes place during Iris and her boyfriend Paul’s (Max Lloyd-Jones) evening at the grand opening of a restaurant named Skyview, perched high above the city on a structure similar to Seattle’s Space Needle or Toronto’s CN Tower. The disaster ensues when the glass dance floor shatters, causing an explosion, the stairway to collapse, the elevator to plummet, and massive portions of the restaurant to come crashing down onto the street below.

This intricate catastrophe, skillfully exploiting the widespread fear of heights, might be frightening, yet it’s inherently extremely unlikely. At the outset of the scene, it seems that the event (later stopped by Iris) was imminent due to haste in building construction. However, the notion that several parts of the complex chain of events leading to the disaster were triggered by a single coin being thrown from the tower’s peak strains credibility significantly when considering the possibility of such an occurrence happening in reality.

2. Bobby Campbell

He Probably Should Have Died Much Sooner

In a strange twist of events, it wasn’t the fact that Bobby (Owen Patrick Joyner) died that was hard to believe, but rather how he met his end. You see, Bobby and his brother Erik (Richard Harmon) had a plan to take Bobby’s life using his peanut allergy, with the intention of reviving him and disrupting Death’s plan. However, it was something far more unexpected that ultimately took his life – a vending machine spring being drawn towards the magnetic field of a malfunctioning MRI machine. A rather improbable demise indeed.

1. Erik Campbell

The MRI Machine Shouldn’t Work Like That

In the movie, Erik met a particularly grisly end because despite not initially being marked for death, his attempt to interfere with the entity by inducing Bobby’s anaphylactic shock provoked it. Consequently, the malfunctioning MRI machine’s magnetic force yanked out his body piercings and a wheelchair crashed into his back. The metal frame of the wheelchair then tore through his abdomen.

In another words, it’s highly unlikely that the MRI machine would fail so dramatically, given that a minor computer glitch caused this effect. It appears reasonable to assume that such high levels of magnetism might need a password or additional authorization. Nonetheless, the event culminated in one of the most extreme deaths seen in “Final Destination Bloodlines,” and its improbability doesn’t diminish its overall impact.
