Esha Deol, born to established actors Dharmendra and Hema Malini, enjoyed a prosperous acting career until she chose to step back following her marriage to Bharat Takhtani and the start of her family. Unfortunately, after 12 years, they mutually decided to separate and are now divorced. Recently, she shared her experiences with co-parenting and described it as ‘overwhelming’ at times.
12 years ago, Esha Deol and Bharat Takhtani tied the knot in a traditional wedding ceremony. Since then, they have been blessed with two beautiful daughters named Radhya and Miraya. However, in February 2024, the couple announced their separation and chose to co-parent their children instead. Recently, while speaking to The Quint, Esha confessed that at times it can be overpowering, but her daughters are the most precious things in her world.
She went on to emphasize that unfortunately, relationships between two people can come to an end. However, if children are in the picture, it’s crucial to put aside personal pride and set boundaries for their sake. In essence, we are not just partners but parents to these precious kids. The actress from Dhoom also pointed out that providing the best for them is essential, and when one parent chooses to prioritize their needs, the other one often responds with understanding.
In her opinion about divorce and joint parenting, she added that if two people have made a decision, the children should not be affected. Therefore, they need to set aside their egos and collaborate in their new roles. She emphasized that for the children, parents form a team; no matter what changes occur between them, this team should not disintegrate. “I believe it’s challenging for many, but if you persist, I think, just keep trying. Don’t abandon hope,” she said.
14 years after taking a break from the film industry, Esha Deol is preparing for her return to the big screen with a new movie. In this upcoming film titled Tumko Meri Kasam, she will be joining forces with actors Anupam Kher, Adah Sharma, and Ishwak Singh. The release date for this entertaining production is set for March 21, 2025.
