Exciting New Cast Revealed for ‘Neagley’ Spin-off from ‘Reacher’!

The Amazon Prime Video series, Reacher, inspired by Lee Child’s novels, has been a huge hit, earning praise from both critics and viewers. What’s even more exciting is that the series is broadening its world with a fresh spin-off centered around the character of Francis Neagley. This character, played by Maria Sten, is a beloved newcomer to the main storyline, making her debut in Season 1 as a former military comrade of Jack Reacher. Now, we have the official title and full cast list for this spin-off.

According to Variety, the spin-off series titled Neagley boasts a talented ensemble cast. Actors like Damon Herriman from Justified, Greyston Holt known for The Night Agent and Riverdale, Matthew Del Negro who has appeared in Teen Wolf and Mayor of Kingstown, Adeline Rudolph from Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and Jasper Jones from King Ivory are all joining the cast. Each will play distinctive characters: Lawrence Cole, Detective Hudson Riley, Pierce Woodrow, Renee, and Keno respectively.

Similar to Reacher, Neagley delivers high-octane action and a multitude of unexpected turns that will leave viewers at the very brink of suspense. The formal summary of Neagley goes like this:

Is the ‘Reacher’ Spin-off Also Based on Lee Child’s Books?

In the TV adaptation of the Reacher series, the character Frances Neagley, portrayed by Maria Sten, played a substantial role across multiple episodes. Conversely, in Lee Child’s novels, Neagley has a more restricted presence. The creators of the show and author Lee Child collectively decided to expand her role, recognizing potential for her involvement in various storylines. In the books, Neagley is a former military police officer who worked alongside Reacher in the 110th Special Investigations unit. Child explained this decision to increase Neagley’s presence as a “strategic move” when adapting the novel for a new medium.

In choosing Neagley as a character, we faced a creative challenge. Unlike in books, it’s difficult to portray a character’s thoughts on screen. Reacher often spends a lot of time pondering and figuring things out, which would make for lengthy scenes if acted out by Alan Ritchson. Therefore, we introduced Neagley as a secondary character to help deliver necessary exposition more effectively.

Neagley takes place within the same world as Reacher, but it won’t follow any of Child’s books directly. This gives the writers an opportunity to delve into fresh perspectives and character narratives while expanding on the solid foundation laid by the original series. Introducing characters like Lawrence Cole and Pierce Woodrow, whose histories and functions remain largely undisclosed, is bound to leave fans curious about where this spin-off might lead. The Amazon series for the spin-off titled “Neagley” was commissioned in October 2024 and filming has already started, however, a specific release date hasn’t been announced yet. Since Amazon has maintained a regular release pattern with shows like Reacher, it is likely that Neagley will follow this pattern as well. Nick Santora and Nicholas Wootton are working together to co-create, executive produce, and co-run the show for Neagley. Lee Child is also an executive producer on the project.
