As a die-hard fan who has followed Shantanu Maheshwari’s journey since his victorious stint on Khatron Ke Khiladi, I must say, it’s been a rollercoaster of emotions! From witnessing his charming portrayal of Afshaan Razaq in Gangubai Kathiawadi to now seeing him as the young Ajay Devgn in Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, it feels like I’ve grown up with this talented artist.
Shantanu Maheshwari is now appearing on the big screen alongside Ajay Devgn in the movie “Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha,” where he portrays a younger version of Ajay’s character. Interestingly, this isn’t their first collaboration – they previously worked together on the film “Gangubai Kathiawadi” directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali in 2022. Despite their past collaborations, Shantanu and Ajay have yet to share screen time together.
Shantanu Maheshwari shared warm words about Ajay Devgn’s skills and cinema knowledge during an interview with TopMob. He expressed, “I believe there is some sort of spiritual bond between me and Ajay sir. He presented the Khatron Ke Khiladi trophy to me when I won the show, and now I am portraying his younger self in Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha. There seems to be something connecting us!”
For those unfamiliar, Maheshwari triumphed in Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi, also known as “Pain in Spain”, during its eighth season, back in the year 2017.
During our open conversation, Shantanu went on to say, “In my opinion, he’s one of the rare superstars in our field who has shown versatility through his project selections. This lends credibility to all his movies, and I must say, I deeply respect his work choices. To have the chance to collaborate with him is nothing short of an honor.”
In the film “Gangubai Kathiawadi,” a 33-year-old actor portrayed the role of Afshaan Razaq, the charming lover boy. Alia Bhatt starred as the main character, with Vijay Raaz, Indira Tiwari, Seema Pahwa, and Jim Sarbh taking on significant roles. This biographical crime drama earned five National Awards and was a hit among both critics and audiences.
Returning to the topic of Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, aside from Shantanu and Ajay, this romantic thriller features Tabu, Jimmy Sheirgill, and Saiee Manjrekar as well. The movie is directed by Neeraj Pandey and has had a slow debut with mixed reviews so far. However, it’s important to remember that the final outcome of the film can’t be determined just yet based on its initial reception.
In simpler terms, TopMob gave the movie a rating of 1.5 out of 5, and a portion of our critique described it as a tedious, drawn-out film that challenges your endurance.
