As a lifestyle expert with a deep-rooted passion for cinema and a keen eye for the pulse of the nation, I can confidently say that Gadar 2 was not just a movie, it was an emotional rollercoaster that resonated deeply with the hearts of millions across India. Having witnessed the unparalleled success of this sequel last year on Independence Day, I can attest to the fact that Anil Sharma‘s sentiment rings true – Gadar 2 was indeed more than a film; it was an emotion shared by the whole nation.
2023 saw the highly-anticipated release of Gadar 2, starring the legendary Sunny Deol, and it’s safe to say that I was one of the millions who flocked to the cinemas to witness this masterpiece. A year later, I had the privilege of speaking exclusively with director Anil Sharma, discussing the unprecedented success of this Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel blockbuster. This past Independence Day, theaters were overwhelmed as fans gathered to celebrate their love for this timeless film.
Last year, on August 11, 2023, the follow-up to the 2001 movie “Gadar” was debuted. In this new film, Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel returned to their roles as Tara Singh and Sakina, respectively, signifying a powerful resurgence on screen for both actors.
As a lifestyle expert, I’d say, “For me, the success of Gadar 2 holds immense significance because it’s not merely a movie; it embodies the emotions of every Indian.”
He further continued by stating, “People gave place to Gadar 1 in their hearts and were eagerly waiting for the release of Gadar 2. We also worked hard. I would always say that I will make Gadar 2 when I have the bomb of emotions to burst. Aur vo emotion ka bomb jab aaya aur Gadar 2 jab maine banai aur public ne usko uss tarah se liya to mann to definitely bag-o-baag hoga (when I had the bomb of emotions I made Gadar 2 and people appreciated it, so definitely my heart was filled with happiness)
Anil Sharma reminisced about watching movie reviews with his wife when the film first came out. He said, as overwhelmingly positive reviews poured in, their eyes filled with tears. He recounted that he subsequently contacted Sunny Deol, who too became emotional, and the three of them ended up shedding tears together.
He remarked, “Our efforts seem to have been rewarded and we feel blessed because whatever we created with great care, people seem to appreciate it. After all, everything we make is for the audience’s approval. When the public approves of something, that’s all one can hope for.”
After the acclaimed release of Gadar 2, the director has also announced plans for a third installment within this cherished series.
