EXCLUSIVE: Stree 2's Sunil Kumar aka Sarkata says his family hasn't watched Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao starrer; 'Papa ji ki death ho gayi'

As a fervent admirer of the artistry that unfolds on our silver screens, I find myself deeply moved by the heartfelt tale of Sunil Kumar, the man behind the enigmatic Sarkata in Stree 2. His life experiences, much like the characters he portrays, are a testament to the intricate tapestry that makes up our shared human experience.

The movie Stree 2, featuring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, has been creating quite a stir at cinemas. Directed by Amar Kaushik, it’s been receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback from both fans and critics. However, Sunil Kumar (Sarkata) shared that unfortunately, his family was unable to watch the film due to the recent demise of his father.

During a special conversation with TopMob, actor Sunil Kumar (known for portraying Sarkata in Stree 2) shared how his family reacted upon seeing the movie. He disclosed that tragically, his father had passed before the film hit the screens.

“I haven’t been able to see the movie yet because my father passed away on August 12. Many interview calls are coming in instead.”

He further revealed that a lot of local journalists have also been approaching him for the interviews. However, he couldn’t find the time yet. “Ghar se jaa bhi nahi sakta, ghar mein bada main hi hoon fir bahar jaana bhi abhi thoda…(I can’t go out as of now. I’m the elder in the family, so it’s a little difficult to go out).”

Apart from what we discussed earlier, he went on to mention his lifelong dream of creating a horror film. He reminisced about the numerous horror flicks he’d watched, including Bandh Darwaza, which fueled this desire. Consequently, when the chance presented itself, he seized it without hesitation.

Was there a time when the actor was questioned about any genuinely scary experiences or locations? To this, Sunil gleamed with a grin and divulged that he’s encountered many such stories.

Growing up, we lived near our mother’s place, and our farmlands were further ahead where we cultivated crops. As we went there at night, she often warned us that if someone ventured out in the evening, they might see a ghost. I’ve heard quite a bit about this.

Sunil Kumar hails from Jammu and because of his physicality, is known as ‘The Khali Of Jammu.’
