Based on the rumors, it seems that Far Cry 7 centers around the Bennett family, a wealthy clan who find themselves in a power struggle among siblings: Layla, Dax, Brie, Christian, Henry, and Krista. The storyline bears a resemblance to HBO’s popular show Succession; however, instead of corporate conflicts, Far Cry 7 incorporates gunfights and high-octane action sequences.
Just like in every Far Cry title, the villain significantly contributes to the storyline. In this installment, Ian Duncan emerges as the antagonist – a conspiracy theorist commanding an army of loyal followers, reminiscent of a cult. The specifics about his character are yet to be revealed, but given that Far Cry 7 is rumored to take place in New England, it’s possible that an English actor like Tom Hardy, Christian Bale, or Colin Firth could land the role. However, fans hoping for Cillian Murphy might be disappointed.
It seems that Ian Duncan harbors a strong antipathy towards the Bennetts, stemming from a longstanding grudge against the wealthy upper class. His captivating charm, crucial for any antagonist in Far Cry, positions him as a tough opponent to face.
Additionally, the leaked information reveals side characters like John Mackay and Dr. Safna Kazan, but it’s not yet apparent what functions they play within the narrative. It’s possible that they might function as non-player characters (NPCs) who provide quests or assist with exploration.
