George Clooney Says He Wishes ‘Wolfs’ “Was Having a Wider Release” But “We’re Trying to Figure These Things Out as We Go”

As a long-time fan of Hollywood’s golden era, I can hardly contain my excitement about the reunion of George Clooney and Brad Pitt in “Wolfs”. Their camaraderie and on-screen chemistry are unparalleled, and it’s been far too long since we last saw them together. The prospect of watching these two titans go head-to-head is simply too enticing to resist!

16 years apart, George Clooney and Brad Pitt are teaming up once more in an Apple original film titled “Wolfs“. In this project, they portray two independent professionals who are compelled to collaborate when they’re both assigned the same task. Despite their preference for working solo, they must join forces to complete it.

At the recent premiere of the project, Clooney shared with The Hollywood Reporter that his close friends were acting as rivals within it. He said, “It was simply enjoyable, the script was excellent, we believed it would be fun to participate. It had been a while since we worked together, so getting back together was genuinely exciting.

In their past roles, they worked together in films such as “Confessions of a Dangerous Mind”, “Burn After Reading” and the “Oceans” series. Pitt noted that this action comedy didn’t resemble another “Oceans” film, but rather it was more concentrated without all the other characters present, to which Clooney humorously replied, “I believe you’re looking for the word ‘Actors’, those fellows.

Originally, it was anticipated that the movie Wolfs would have a broad theater release. However, in August, Apple revealed that instead, it would first screen for a week in theaters before being made available for streaming. Additionally, a sequel to the film was also announced simultaneously.

Clooney expressed his satisfaction that the project is coming out, acknowledging that he hopes for a broader launch and is working on solutions. He mentioned that this period of transition in our industry is unprecedented, but he’s confident they will navigate it successfully.

Richard Kind, one of the film’s co-stars, added his thoughts, stating, “I’m not sure if Apple would appreciate me saying this, but it seems like this movie is meant to be experienced communally. I’ve noticed a trend lately where films go straight to streaming and I’ve been fortunate enough to watch them with an audience. Movies are movies, they’re best enjoyed on the big screen. Characters like these are larger than life, and life itself isn’t a smartphone or tablet or even a huge TV screen. They deserve more space.

Amy Ryan, co-star, commented, “It’s great if we can draw a big crowd with any method possible; the more people who watch the movie, the better. It seems like we’re going through some growing pains – yet I still enjoy going to the cinema and sharing an experience with a group of people, or even strangers. At home, distractions are everywhere, like doing dishes, so I prefer to keep those tasks at home.

At a recent premiere, I shared the spotlight with the dynamic duo, Clooney and Pitt, in a movie where I spent a considerable amount of time running – often in just my underwear! And guess what? George Clooney didn’t miss the chance to pull one of his legendary pranks on me. What an unforgettable experience!

On the initial day, they arranged seats, with someone from production setting aside two large chairs for themselves, and one smaller chair for me – this sparked a bit of amusement among us; I suspect it was an oversight.

Wolfs hits limited theaters on Friday and starts streaming on Apple TV+ on Sept. 27.
