Get ready to hop back into the Lincoln once more, as Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo) is set to continue his legal escapades in a fourth season of The Lincoln Lawyer. As previously announced at the Next on Netflix event, production for season 4 of this popular courtroom drama will commence in February. Joining Haller in this must-see streaming series will be Scream’s Neve Campbell, who will reprise her role as one of Haller’s two former wives, Maggie McPherson.
In Season 4 of “The Lincoln Lawyer,” we’ll adapt Michael Connelly’s latest novel, “The Law of Innocence,” which hit bookstores last November. This new season promises another 10 gripping episodes, with the return of our beloved regulars such as Haller’s former wife Lorna (Becki Newton), the resourceful investigator Cisco (Angus Sampson), and the dedicated Izzy, portrayed by Jazz Raycole. Despite the destructive wildfires that recently swept through Los Angeles, the showrunners Ted Humphrey and Dailyn Rodriguez have confirmed that the filming will still take place in the City of Angels, as reported by Deadline.
We can’t wait to share more tales with Mickey Haller, and it’s particularly delightful to be filming The Lincoln Lawyer back in Los Angeles now. This series, in numerous aspects, is a heartfelt tribute to our city and an acknowledgment of the esteemed LA noir genre. Following the devastation of the fires, we feel fortunate and proud to offer some continuity and optimism to the community.
How Will ‘The Lincoln Lawyer’ Cliffhanger Play Out in Season 4?
As a movie reviewer, I must admit that the fate of Mickey Haller’s (Garcia-Rulfo) former love interest and formidable adversary, Andrea Freeman (Yaya DaCosta), remains uncertain in the series. However, the mind-boggling Season 3 cliffhanger of The Lincoln Lawyer promises to unfold further in the next installment of this gripping Netflix series. For those craving a sneak peek into what lies ahead, I strongly recommend reading the synopsis of Michael Connelly’s sixth book in the The Lincoln Lawyer series, “The Law of Innocence,” available on his official website.
In the story, the defense attorney, Mickey Haller, gets stopped by police who discover a client’s body in the back of his Lincoln. As a result, Mickey is accused of murder and faces an incredibly high $5 million bail set by a vengeful judge. Unable to afford this large amount, Mickey decides to represent himself, and from within the Twin Towers Correctional Center in downtown Los Angeles, he plans and constructs his defense strategy.
While keeping a watchful eye behind him, Mickey understands that, as a court officer, he’s immediately in the crosshairs. He’s certain he’s been falsely accused. Now, with Harry Bosch and their reliable team by his side, Mickey must uncover the mastermind who seeks to ruin his life, learn their motive, and finally clear his name. This requires a trial before a judge and jury where he must present evidence of his innocence.
Indeed, the TV series has adapted the novels’ plotlines to fit the program more effectively, and “The Law of Innocence” aligns with the shocking Season 3 finale where Mickey Haller is arrested in a dramatic conclusion. Yet, considering Titus Welliver, who plays Harry Bosch in Amazon’s “Bosch: Legacy,” might somehow join the Netflix series, it raises intriguing questions. Co-showrunner Dailyn Rodriguez promised that Season 3 would set up “the next book,” and true to her word, this has been accomplished. As of now, The Lincoln Lawyer Season 4 doesn’t have an official release date yet. But rest assured, once it arrives, dedicated fans will again be drawn back into the world of the Gods of Guilt and their skilled defense lawyer, Mickey Haller.
