Harrison Ford's Red Hulk Roars in Full Reveal Footage

As a seasoned moviegoer with decades of cinematic experiences under my belt, I must say that the unveiling of Harrison Ford as Red Hulk in Captain America: Brave New World has certainly piqued my interest. Having witnessed the evolution of Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) from its humble beginnings to its present-day behemoth, it’s fascinating to see a new character join this ever-expanding universe.

Fans’ reactions to Harrison Ford’s portrayal of Red Hulk in Marvel’s upcoming film, Captain America: Brave New World, have been varied online. Ever since the initial trailer hinted at the appearance of Red Hulk within the movie, fans have eagerly awaited a closer look at how Thaddeus Ross (played by Ford) would transform into his angry alter-ego. Now, their curiosity has been satisfied.

In the latest Marvel Studios sneak peek, where we catch brief glimpses of Daredevil, The Thunderbolts squad, and other tantalizing characters, there’s a five-second spotlight on none other than Red Hulk, played by Ford. This scene, reminiscent of the footage unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con, showcases Red Hulk towering before The White House. Although we’ll likely see more in the upcoming trailer set for release next month, you can catch a glimpse of it in the video below. (As a movie critic putting it in my own words)

Yet, the unveiling sparked a variety of opinions, from those thrilled to see Red Hulk in the MCU, some unfamiliar with the existence of Red Hulk, and one individual expressing concern over Red Hulk’s nipples. A diverse array of responses can be found below.

Harrison Ford often comes across as a grumpy veteran actor during interviews, swiftly offering blunt responses to questions he deems unimportant. Yet, he has learned when to play along, and this is evident in his role in “Captain America: Brave New World“.

Stepping into Thaddeus Ross’s shoes, following the departure of William Hurt, I must admit I wasn’t expecting to be a part of Marvel Studios’ grand scheme, considering my past statements about rejoining the Star Wars universe in the sequel trilogy. However, during San Diego Comic-Con, I found myself drawn to the joy exuded by veteran actors in Marvel films and decided that I too wanted to experience that fun. As Variety reported at the time, when asked about the challenging motion capture process for transforming into a Hulk-like character on set, I simply expressed my desire to “get a taste of what they’re having.”

“Achieving it required indifference and sometimes acting foolishly for financial gain, something I’ve experienced in the past. I don’t condemn this path, but I must admit that it involves actions that your mother or an acting coach might not approve of. However, it was entertaining, and I found joy in it. I had a wonderful time, and I’m thrilled with the positive reception we received today with the trailer.”

Though there’s nearly six months left before “Captain America: Brave New World” premieres in theaters, it looks like Ford’s Red Hulk is a compelling reason for fans to catch the film on the big screen. Let’s keep our fingers crossed they won’t reveal too much about his look beforehand.

Captain America: Brave New World
is released on February 14, 2025.
