As a die-hard Harry Potter fan who grew up with the books, I’ve always dreamed of stepping into the world of magic and now, with Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions, I feel like my dreams are coming true! The excitement is palpable as we gear up for the launch next week.
Despite a break from new movies in the Wizarding World, Harry Potter enthusiasts can find plenty of fun in gaming options instead.
Although Hogwarts Legacy doesn’t include the intramural game of Quidditch, players can still enjoy this magical sport in the forthcoming game, Harry Potter: Champion of Quidditch.
Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions Gameplay Walkthrough Launch Trailer
As a thrilled fan, I can’t contain my excitement as we’re just a week away from the game launch! Though previews haven’t given much insight into gameplay yet, Warner Bros. Games has recently unveiled a fresh trailer that offers a clearer picture of how each Quidditch team member will operate within the game, making the wait even more exhilarating!
In a Quidditch match, each player will rotate through four distinct positions within the team – Chasers (4), Beaters (2), Keepers (1), and Seekers (1). Chasers are responsible for maneuvering the quaffle to score points by getting it into the opposing team’s hoops; Beaters wield clubs to protect their teammates from the flying bludgers, which aim to hit players on the pitch; Keepers guard the goalposts to prevent opponents from scoring; and the Seekers are tasked with locating and capturing the golden snitch.
Every character choice brings about unique playstyles, enabling players to collaborate with their friends online or engage in multiplayer matches alongside fellow Quidditch enthusiasts in the online arena.
Balancing the Game
Despite appearing to adhere to the fundamental guidelines of Quidditch, it appears that the team named Quidditch Champions has altered one specific rule, an adjustment that many spectators find significant and potentially disruptive in terms of balance.

In this version of the game, the Seeker’s win by capturing the snitch, but rather than gaining 150 points as in the books, they receive a 30-point bonus—a substantial addition to the game, yet not so much that it overshadows the points earned during the entire match.
Different Quidditch Pitches
As they progress in their Quidditch journey, players initially begin at square one on the homemade Quidditch field created by the Weasleys, which is a setting from the books but not depicted in the movies, located at the burrow.
As a devoted fan, I can’t help but imagine myself stepping onto the hallowed Hogwarts pitch, where the air is thick with anticipation and the houses of Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, Syltherin, and Gryffindor are poised for an epic competition. In this magical realm, I’d be faced with a momentous choice: which house would I soar with, each offering its unique blend of wisdom, loyalty, cunning, or courage? The thrill of the game is not just about winning; it’s about embracing the values that make each house special and forging bonds that span generations.
Afterward comes the inter-school tournaments, where players compete against other teams in venues like Beauxbatons Academy and Durmstrang Institute. Eventually, they’d advance to the Quidditch World Cup, a prestigious event featuring 16 countries’ Quidditch teams.
Customization and Hero Skins
In terms of personalization, the game offers six playable characters, each of which can be extensively tailored with various robe options, facial adornments, hats, and more. Additionally, players can choose from a variety of emotes and post-match celebratory animations.
Beyond its visual aspects, the game also provides an individualized skill progression system for each team role. Additionally, players can select from a variety of brooms, each boasting unique specializations and statistics.
As a dedicated fan, I’m thrilled to share that in this game, not only can we create our unique characters, but we’ll also have the opportunity to don these ‘Hero Costumes’, inspired by iconic characters from the Harry Potter universe! Apart from Harry Potter, you’ll find skins for Draco Malfoy, Cedric Diggory, and Cho Chang. Even non-Quidditch players like Hermione are included, and believe it or not, Madame Hooch, our flying instructor, also has an unlockable skin!
The game titled “Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions” is set to debut on September 3 for PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and personal computers.
