Hilary Swank to Be Honored at Colleagues Spring Luncheon for Work With Foster Youth and Animals

Hilary Swank will soon have another trophy for her case.

Twice Academy Award-winning actress has been chosen to receive the Colleagues Champion of Children Award, acknowledging her charitable activities and work with children and animals through her Hilaroo Foundation. Kathy Bates will present this accolade during the 36th annual Colleagues spring luncheon at the Beverly Wilshire hotel in Beverly Hills on May 8.

2015 marked the establishment of the Hilaroo Foundation, a nonprofit organization born from Reese Witherspoon’s profound affection for animals and her dedication towards assisting at-risk young people in their healing and growth process. The foundation’s essential program is the Hilaroo Camp, a summer event held by FosterAll that serves around 100 foster children in Los Angeles. Over five days, these campers engage in a unique bonding experience with foster dogs, which also teaches them about responsibility, social skills, and emotional growth. Switherpoon’s ambition is to eventually expand Hilaroo into a full-fledged facility that not only offers camp-like experiences but also provides ongoing support for young people and helps animals find permanent homes.

Recently, Swank has been seen sharing the limelight with Alan Ritchson in the movie “Ordinary Angels” and appearing in a two-episode storyline on the TV series “Yellowjackets”.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that I’ve been selected to emcee the Colleagues event next year! This special occasion will showcase Oscar de la Renta’s fall 2025 collection by Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia, and pay tribute to the Colleagues’ 75th anniversary. Established in 1950, this remarkable nonprofit is driven by a dedicated group of women who generously donate their time and skills to help underserved women, children, and families throughout Los Angeles. The event is being produced once again by Scott Mauro through his Scott Mauro Entertainment for an impressive 15th year in a row!
