How to Watch the Oscars 2025 Around the World

If you’re eager to discover who will be the winner at the 2025 Oscars, as Emilia Pérez has been nominated a record-breaking 13 times, followed closely by The Brutalist and Wicked with 10 nominations each, you can catch the event on television or online in numerous countries this Sunday, March 3. Many will be tuning in not only to see the performances of host Conan O’Brien at this year’s ceremony, but also to witness the glamour and excitement of the Academy Awards red carpet in L.A., especially since the city has recently recovered from wildfires. However, if you’re lucky enough to have one of the limited tickets, you could be attending the Oscars in person.

Following our usual custom, ABC is set to air the ceremony in the U.S., and it can also be watched online on abc.com and the ABC app, as well as through streaming services that offer ABC content such as DirecTV, Hulu + Live TV, Verizon, and Sling. This year, Disney will make its debut by live-streaming the Oscars on Hulu. The event begins at 4 p.m. Pacific Time / 7 p.m. Eastern Time.

Nowadays, the Oscars ceremony mirrors the global nature of the U.S. film industry itself. Regardless of where you reside or travel, you have multiple options to catch the glamour on the red carpet, the presentations of awards, and heartfelt acceptance speeches. However, it’s important to note that this event isn’t completely untouched by geopolitics – for the fifth consecutive year, China and Russia will not broadcast the Oscars.

Here’s a guide from The Hollywood Reporter on where you can watch the Oscars in some international locations. To find out which international networks and streaming services are airing the ceremony, consult the comprehensive list provided by the Academy. [Link to the list]

United Kingdom

For several years, Sky, which is owned by Comcast, had been the sole broadcaster of the major awards ceremony. However, this year, ITV and its streaming platform ITVX, as well as STV and its player in Scotland, will be broadcasting the Oscars in the United Kingdom for the second consecutive time.

The exclusive rights to the big awards show had long been held by Sky, a European pay TV company owned by Comcast. But this year, ITV and its streaming service ITVX, along with STV and its player in Scotland, will be airing the Oscars in the U.K. for two years running.

The 96th Oscars ceremony held in 2024 was popular among U.K. viewers, with ITV1 and ITVX’s free-to-air broadcast reaching a total of 5.2 million viewers, according to ITV. Looking forward to 2025, ITV plans to offer more of what viewers enjoy, including the prestigious awards show, glamorous red carpet events, and much more.

As a movie buff myself, I’m thrilled to share that this year, I’ll be part of the team bringing you the Oscars live from ITV1 and ITVX starting at 10:30 p.m. British time! We’ve got expert hosts who will ensure you don’t miss a beat as the nominees for the 97th Academy Awards, along with Hollywood’s biggest stars and VIP guests, grace the red carpet. So, get ready to join me in this glamorous journey!

And guess what? Renowned broadcaster and fellow film enthusiast, Jonathan Ross, will be back to lead ITV’s coverage of the Oscars. This means you’ll be right there with all the action – live commentary, special celebrity guests, film experts, and even live chats with all the stars on the red carpet! So, let’s celebrate the magic of cinema together!

For early birds like you, ITV will broadcast a recap show featuring the most buzzed-about moments from the Oscars on Monday night.
