As a die-hard fan of romantic comedies and Imran Khan, hearing the news about his potential collaboration with Danish Aslam once again has filled me with an indescribable sense of joy. Having grown up watching Khan’s charming performances in films like Break Ke Baad, I can’t help but feel a deep connection to both him and the genre he excels in.
Among many cherished films, Break Ke Baad featuring Imran Khan and Deepika Padukone continues to hold a special place in hearts. With news of Khan’s potential return to acting swirling, the director Danish Aslam recently revealed that he is collaborating with his friend Imran Khan on a new project. Aslam hinted, “We will be delighted to share details once everything is finalized.
During an interview with India Today Digital, Danish Aslam suggested a possible partnership with Imran Khan, yet he mentioned that he’s unable to disclose many details just yet. Aslam mentioned that there have been rumors in the press about this particular project.
He also added, “Some parts of it are accurate, while others are not. Unfortunately, this is an ongoing project. As soon as everything is finalized and everything falls into place, we will eagerly reveal it to the world. However, all I can share now is that I’m collaborating with Imran Khan on something.
Danish brought up his first directorial venture, “Break Ke Baad,” during a conversation about romantic comedies. The 2010 production starring Imran Khan and Deepika Padukone didn’t make a big splash at the box office when it was initially released, but over time, it garnered significant appreciation.
Speaking enthusiastically about the comeback of romantic comedies, I myself can’t hide my excitement as I share the news of my upcoming collaboration with none other than Imran Khan! We go way back, and it was during our heart-to-hearts with good ol’ Khan that I sensed a yearning for some timeless rom-coms. Now, I can hardly wait to bring these cherished stories to life alongside my friend!
Over the last three years, Aslam shared that him and Imran have been receiving messages from fans, aged between twenty and thirty, who nostalgically recall the simple, heartwarming rom-coms of their younger days and are curious as to why this genre seems to have become less prevalent.
Aslam asserts that the modern romantic comedy (rom-com) often incorporates social messages or transforms into grand action films with a dominant masculine vibe, thereby diminishing the traditional rom-com. However, he strongly feels that there exists a substantial market for this genre, with viewers eagerly seeking such content.
Simultaneously, the film director is fully prepared for his upcoming venture. Entitled “Khawabon Ka Jhamela”, this movie featuring Sayani Gupta and Prateik Babbar will be available to stream on JioCinema starting from November 8, 2024.
