As a long-time gamer and movie enthusiast, I couldn’t help but feel a thrill of excitement as I waited for the opening weekend of the latest addition to the Hollywood legacy, “Twisters.” Having grown up watching the original 1996 classic, I was eager to see how this new installment would hold up against my cherished memories.
After much anticipation, the moment has finally arrived: Hollywood’s latest legacy sequel, “Twisters,” is now open in theaters. Excitement has been building among fans, who can’t wait to see the spectacular show promised by the tornado-filled Super Bowl trailer. With a strong possibility of blockbuster numbers, the disaster movie is poised for an impressive start. In the meantime, one of the film’s stars, Glen Powell, is adding to the fun with clever puns as he celebrates the release of this year’s most anticipated new movie.
When it comes to talking about a film that portrays dealing with numerous tornadoes, there’s an abundance of witty expressions at our disposal. You might believe the movie will leave you “completely taken away” or consider the marketing campaign a “real roller coaster.” Jokes abound! Glen Powell has also shared some clever puns on his Instagram stories in honor of his new movie’s debut. Here’s one example:
In the initial image, Glen Powell and Brandon Perea are beaming at each other with great smiles. The caption beneath reads “Storm Hounds.” This moniker signifies their roles as storm chasers in the summer movie. Glen’s second post is quite witty:
In the second post, there’s a picture of the “Hit Man” protagonist sitting in his car, accompanied by the caption “See you in hail.” I must admit, that witty remark is quite amusing. Given the character Tyler Owens’ frequent encounters with stormy weather as a storm chaser, this seems like a fitting farewell.
Twisters – An Exciting Movie Experience with Glen Powell and Daisy Edgar-Jones: A Delectable Blend of Fun, Barbecue, and Chaos
In terms of box office earnings, it was predicted that the film “Twisters” would debut between $40 and $50 million. However, Deadline reports that as of Friday, the summer action movie has generated $32.2 million, while an additional $10.7 million was earned from previews on Wednesday and Thursday. Consequently, it appears that the blockbuster is not on track to amass a weekend revenue of $72 million. Given its impressive cast, thrilling action sequences, and enjoyable cinematic experience reminiscent of “Top Gun: Maverick,” I’m not entirely shocked by these figures.
Critics are convinced that we have another successful film on our hands with this movie, and Glen Powell has been eagerly anticipating its release. Upon watching it, Powell raved about the production being a thrilling combination of “awesome” and “impressive.” He is also looking forward to how audiences will respond when they see it in theaters.
As a huge fan and proud Texan, I couldn’t contain my excitement when the Twister movie was released. And what made it even more special was the opportunity to honor the late and great Bill Paxton, who starred alongside him in this iconic disaster film. Sadly, Paxton passed away in 2017 due to complications with a damaged aortic heart valve. It’s heartwarming to see the Top Gun star acknowledge and pay tribute to Paxton’s legacy. His portrayal of one of the best disaster movie characters ever is truly iconic and will never be forgotten.
During the premiere of Twisters, we’ll be eagerly tracking its advancement and checking for updates. Additionally, don’t forget to check out Glen Powell’s social media platforms for potential bonus puns.
