It's Such A Bold Move Epic Universe's New Wizarding World Land Will Bring Back A Harry Potter Character You Love To Hate, For More Than One Reason

As a long-time Harry Potter enthusiast and theme park aficionado, I must say that Universal Orlando Resort has outdone themselves with their latest announcement about Epic Universe’s Ministry of Magic land. The blend of familiar characters from the Harry Potter series with the unique setting of Fantastic Beasts is nothing short of ingenious.

For several months now, Universal Orlando Resort has been gradually unveiling details about its upcoming Epic Universe theme park, set to open next year. It was clear from the progressive disclosures that the final reveal would center on the third installation of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. And it seems they’ve saved the most exciting for last.

As a dedicated Harry Potter fan, I must say that venturing into The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic feels like stepping into uncharted territory. It’s not just another land based on the franchise; it’s something unique and daring. This immersive experience promises to weave a fresh chapter in the Harry Potter narrative, one that wasn’t explored in the books or films.

Epic Universe’s Ministry Of Magic Land Will Feature The Trial Of Delores Umbridge

The star event in the fresh Ministry of Magic theme park will appropriately unfold within the halls of the British Ministry of Magic headquarters itself. This thrilling dark ride, titled “Harry Potter and the Clash at the Ministry,” revolves around the trial of one of Harry Potter’s most detestable characters, Dolores Umbridge. Visitors will serve as witnesses to the court proceedings when Umbridge makes a daring escape, triggering a chase that spans the entire building. The pursuit will involve Harry, Ron, and Hermione trying to apprehend the rogue dark wizard and troublesome teacher.

It’s intriguing to know whether the characters and actors from the Harry Potter films will play a part in the upcoming attraction, or not. In other Wizarding World lands, we’ve seen Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and others reenact their roles, but those rides were opened long ago when the actors were still close in age to their characters.

As a dedicated gamer diving back into the magical world of Harry Potter, I’m thrilled to hear that Imelda Staunton will once again embody the chilling Dolores Umbridge. Yet, it seems that the attraction might not feature live-action scenes with the actors from the movies due to their age difference with the ride’s setting. Instead, it appears that animated characters could be in play, using the original voice talent like Umbridge, but potentially also soundalikes since there’s no confirmation about any movie cast members joining the ride.

What sets Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry apart is that though it’s a theme park located within the British Ministry of Magic during the 1990s, the remainder of the area is established far away, centuries in the past.

The Rest Of Epic Universe’s Wizarding World Is Set In The Time Of Fantastic Beasts

Instead of finding a city resembling London from the 1990s outside the Ministry of Magic, you’ll encounter a cityscape reminiscent of Paris in the 1920s. The surrounding area is creatively influenced by the Fantastic Beasts franchise and will be themed as Place Cachée, akin to Diagon Alley in Paris.

As a gamer, I’ll uncover an in-game lore revealing my ability to traverse locations and time periods across this fantastical world. The enigmatic system that makes this possible is dubbed the Métro-Floo, a network reminiscent of the Floo Network but with its unique twists.

In Wizarding Paris, you’ll find an exclusive draw: Le Cirque Arcanus, a unique spectacle. The main act features the charismatic Ringmaster Skender, who’s acquired Newt Scamander’s magical creature case, adding an extraordinary twist to his circus performances.

In this magical land, there’ll be a unique wand shop called Cosme Acajor Baguettes Magique, offering some familiar items from Diagon Alley and exciting new options too. Additionally, various spots throughout the land allow visitors to use their wands to engage with the surroundings. The land will also feature characters hailing from all corners of the Wizarding World, ready for interactive encounters with guests.

Wizarding World classic Butterbeer will, of course, be available in the new land. In addition, the Ministry of Magic land will include a pair of cafes, Café L’Air De La Sirène promises inspiring architecture while Le Gobelet Noir will be a food location where dark wizards can get a bite away from prying eyes. Bar Moonshine is a bar for American wizard ex-pats. It sounds like a fairly traditional American sports bar, just one where the sport being celebrated is Quidditch.

After the fifth unveiling about Epic Universe, we have a clear idea of what to expect when it opens in the following year. All that remains unknown is its exact opening date. It’s been indicated that it will open in Summer 2025, but the precise timing for everyone to experience it is yet to be revealed.
