Talk about family drama.
On Thursday, Jack Schlossberg voiced his thoughts about Cheryl Hines, his cousin Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s spouse, on Instagram, commenting on the tragic death of an unvaccinated child from Texas as a result of a measles outbreak.
Heya Cheryl Hines, it’s Jack here, fresh out of my shower. Though we haven’t crossed paths before, I find myself reaching out with a special request. I need your help in making a call to the family who tragically lost their child due to measles. Could you possibly extend your kindness by offering them my heartfelt apologies on their behalf? I’d truly appreciate it if you could do this for me, darling.
He added, “It’s almost always individuals who haven’t been vaccinated that contract measles. It seems fitting for you, given the situation, to offer an apology.
A representative from Hines chose not to respond when The Hollywood Reporter reached out regarding Schlossberg’s statements.

Previously, Schlossberg – a grandson of the late President John F. Kennedy and a vocal Democrat – has critiqued Kennedy Jr. for openly expressing his skepticism towards vaccines. More recently, Kennedy Jr. was appointed as President Donald Trump’s Secretary of Health and Human Services.
Recently, state authorities in Texas confirmed a child’s demise last week, marking the first U.S. fatality from measles since 2015. The child, who was not vaccinated, succumbed to this preventable respiratory disease, according to reports by the Associated Press. This tragedy occurred during an ongoing outbreak in Texas, and on Thursday, health officials in New Mexico announced that an unvaccinated adult infected with measles had died. However, the exact cause of death is still under investigation, as reported by ABC News.
Kennedy Jr. initially downplayed the recent measles outbreak last week, describing it as “not extraordinary.” But he subsequently changed his stance in an opinion piece published by Fox News on Sunday, emphasizing that the MMR vaccine is essential for preventing life-threatening diseases like measles.
Regarding Hines, she had shown contempt towards Trump since his initial term. However, when her husband withdrew from the 2024 presidential race and supported the current president instead, she chose to support him. As for her views on vaccines, she has not openly voiced them, but in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter last year, she confirmed that she had received the COVID-19 vaccine, unlike Kennedy Jr.
The actress from Curb Your Enthusiasm stated that she took care of what was necessary for her job. Had she not been working, perhaps things might have been different. However, she’s not someone who gets a flu shot.
