As a seasoned gamer and podcast listener with a knack for discerning authenticity, I find myself intrigued by Joe Rogan‘s latest political maneuvers. Having grown up admiring the Kennedy family and being a staunch advocate of free thought and independent thinking, it was refreshing to see Rogan express his support for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. However, upon witnessing the backlash from Trump supporters, I can’t help but think that we live in a time where expressing an opinion outside the mainstream political narrative can lead to intense scrutiny and even personal attacks.

In response to criticism from followers of Donald Trump’s “Make America Great Again” movement, Joe Rogan has retracted his endorsement of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., clarifying that his initial statement in favor of a third-party presidential candidate during his podcast on Thursday was not an official endorsement.

On a recent episode of the Joe Rogan Experience, I shared my perspective: I see issues with both the Democratic and Republican parties as they seem to prioritize spin over truth-telling. I told listeners, “That’s just politics. They do it on the left, they do it on the right.” In my opinion, only Robert F. Kennedy Jr. appears to be honest in this political landscape.

As a gamer, I find Kennedy to be the only one who resonates with me. He’s not about personal attacks; instead, he targets actions and ideas. But what sets him apart is his reasonableness and intelligence. Let’s face it, this guy was an environmental lawyer who managed to clean up the East River. To me, he’s as legit as they come.

After people interpreted Rogan’s comments as an endorsement, however, the comedian clarified on Friday that they had been misunderstood.

As a gamer, let me clarify that this isn’t about endorsing anyone or anything. What I’m expressing here is my personal admiration for RFKjr, particularly his ability to engage in discourse with civility and intelligence – qualities we could all benefit from seeing more of in our world today.

Previously, Rogan’s seeming endorsement of Kennedy led to criticism and dismay among Trump supporters on social media platforms, where they criticized Rogan for his choice and raised doubts about his intellect.

“User Johnny MAGA lamented that Joe Rogan, who had a chance to significantly contribute positively, instead wasted it. He finds this unfortunate. In a recent video, Kennedy shared the story about a man (Rogan) who drove around New York state with a decaying bear cub in his car and left it in Central Park as a joke. This action, at the age of 60, is seen as less reasonable and intelligent by Johnny MAGA.”

In just a few hours, the hashtag “#BoycottJoeRogan” emerged on social media platform X, reflecting growing discontent and annoyance towards the podcaster for his endorsement of Kennedy.

It seems that user @RipzRyan on X posted something questionable: “I wonder if he’s being compensated. Could the deep state have influenced him? Hey Rogan, take a look below!” accompanied by an image stating “Trump was correct about everything.” This appears to be expressing doubt about someone’s integrity and endorsing controversial views about Trump.

For the last four consecutive years, “The Joe Rogan Experience” has held the top spot among Spotify’s annual podcast rankings. This year, however, they signed a fresh multi-year contract that allows their podcast to no longer be solely distributed through the Spotify platform.

Descended from one of America’s notable political lineages, Kennedy has faced estrangement from his family due to his unconventional views on public health and his propensity to spread conspiracy theories. These theories encompass disputed notions about vaccines, such as the claim that the MMR vaccine causes autism in children, and questionable ideas about the origins of COVID-19, suggesting it was engineered to specifically target Caucasians and African Americans. In 2023, Kennedy publicly expressed this unfounded belief.

The average of national polls by The Hill/Decision Desk HQ indicates that Kennedy’s support has dropped below 4% when he is matched against Trump, the Republican presidential candidate, and Harris, the Democratic one. His campaign has successfully added Kennedy to the ballot in Texas, and as of Friday, he can claim 174 confirmed electoral votes plus another 329 that are unverified, according to The Hill/Decision Desk’s tracker.

Kennedy’s proposal encompasses revising social assistance programs, securing the southern border while promoting increased legal immigration, phasing out subsidies for fossil fuels, and adopting a non-interventionist approach towards conflicts in Ukraine, Gaza, and China.

Neither Rogan nor the Kennedy team has provided a comment in response to The Hollywood Reporter’s query for feedback.
