As a fan who has been following Scott Adkins‘ action-packed journey for quite some time now, I couldn’t be more thrilled to see him take center stage in both “Take Cover” and “The Killer’s Game”. Adkins is undoubtedly one of those secret weapons in the world of action movies, and it’s about time the world catches on.

The best kept secret in action movies (a secret that is slowly, and finally, getting out thanks to his role in John Wick: Chapter 4), does what he does best in the newly released trailer for the upcoming action thriller Take Cover. Starring Adkins as a disillusioned hitman, the actor himself took to social media to share that early reactions to Take Cover have declared the movie, “Pulse-pounding action that will keep you on the edge of your seat,” and “Explosive carnage reminiscent of a classic John Woo film.” All of which should have action fans excited to see what Adkins has in store.

You can check out the trailer for Take Cover below.

In the leading roles of “Take Cover” are Scott Adkins, known for “One More Shot,” Alice Eve from “Bombshell” and “Star Trek Into Darkness,” Jack Parr famous for his role in “Peaky Blinders,” Madalina Bellariu Ion recognized for her work in “The Young Pope,” and Billy Clements, who appeared in “Meg 2: The Trench.” This film is written by Joshua Todd James, the writer of “Pound of Flesh,” and directed by Nick McKinless, a stunt performer and filmmaker known for “The Iron Grip.” For a sneak peek, you can watch the trailer. Below is the official synopsis that previews a hard-hitting action movie.

In the confined setting of this nerve-wracking action thriller, Scott Adkins finds himself utterly exposed, without protection or escape routes. Over the years, Sam Lorde has built a reputation as a ruthless killer. Following an assassination that didn’t go according to plan, he feels disenchanted and aimless, choosing to walk away from his violent career. Unfortunately for him, his last assignment brings him into the crosshairs of those seeking revenge. With minimal resources for protection, Sam must rely on all his skills and determination to stay alive.
